I agree, there are lots of female WoW players out there.
But, I would be very suprised if more than 10% of the players are female.

the fact that this DK went out of his way to roll a level 1 character just to ask you to be his girlfriend goes to show just how rare females are!

ok the link you gave is not a link to the actual study this article is talking about which is at online univserity.

And the link you gave is a general suvery of the "computer and gaming industry", which does not specify any game such as WoW.
I highly doubt that the ratio of guys to girl players in Wow is 60/40 lol, which is the game that this article is talking about.
there is no way there are that many female wow players.
the survey you linked no doubt includes games like second life which I could see a 60/40 ratio for.

I dont see the most important statistic
the ratio of male to female gamers.
which I bet is like 99 males to one female
and that one female is your guildmasters g/f lol
world of warcraft might have 10 times as many people involved but the majority are all guys

yeah but you need alot of salvage to make the IO's which you will not get just through drops, so you will have to buy it off wentworths/black market and I do everything I can to avoid buying anything off the auction house. Things like alchemical silver can be overpriced at times. But with AE tickets you get free salvage! cant say no to that

Here is my casual players guide to the incredibly overcomplicated and ridiculously over expensive IO set sytem of the game that I completely ignore when I play -
Do not buy any enhancements of any kind for your character until level 30. Just group up and do missions with teams. It really doesnt matter at low levels if you have enhancements or not. Do as many AE missions as possible to collect tickets. You will need lots of tickets. A couple thousand for sure.
Then at lvl 30 use the tickets to get random loot bags for common rewards so you get free IO materials and rarely have to buy anything off the auction house. Then craft basic non set IO's that are either lvl 25 or 30. Slot them in so you get to the cap. Like 3 lvl 30's will get you almost to 100% damage cap.
Then voila your done! level up to 50 now. You never have to think about enhancements again!! You can just have fun now and never have to farm crap.

Everybody was kung-fu fighting!
Subs were dropping as fast as lightning!
In fact it was a littlebit frightning
But they quit with expert timing!

I wont be going to back to WoW.
I cant take a game seriously that has kung fu pandas. It was hard enough taking this game seriously, but the kung fu pandas are the last straw.
Everytime I see MoP pics, I cant get the "everyones kung fu fighting" song out of my head. And the screenshot for this article doesnt help either!! The panda looks so out of place compared to the other character models.

I am trying to decide if I purchase the game or not right now.
The only reason I will buy the game is the well done class stories which I really enjoyed over the weekend.
I want to know whats going to happen next to my bounty hunter and inquisitor!
So I will most likely be buying and subbing to the game.

But other than that, this game is a clone of every MMO with typical boring kill this pick up/click that quests. The quests actually ruin the immersion of the story arcs. Like my inquisitor has been told by Lord Zash my new master that I will have to kill Lord Scotia , but.....first! I must travel to a swamp and pick up three pieces of junk and bring them back to her....really? Whats next, will she need ten Jawa brains to continue the story? These pick up/kill this quests just dont fit in.

And there are some things that really bug me, even though im playing a futuristic technology game, my character is still forced to run around till lvl 25. For some reason my character just cant ride a speederbike till then. Some MMO conventions like this just dont fit into this game, like gear progression does not feel star wars to me. I was sad when a lightsabre weapon gear upgrade dropped, a Jedi/Sith should not find his lighsabre as a drop off an enemy.

lol no I dont have a feminist torch to burn, its just that female fantasy characters are usually scantily dressed in bikini armor, so I just assumed this must be a male character since its in full armor without a hint of cleavage or skin showing. But I dont know the lore behind the character, so I have been proved wrong!

actually, I think its a guy. if it was a girl, she would have to have everything sqeezed in under that armor, and we all know how large chested fantasy females are
