Certainly not. Bioware has a long standing good rep from their games, 2nd only to pre-Activision Blizzard.

Everyone considering playing STOR should pick up Mass effect 1 and 2 and Dragon Age origins. These titles are very telling as to the type of elements we'll experience in STOR.

Being free to play is not going to turn STO into a good game. If you were one the ones unwilling to pay a monthly fee, I don't see why you would play if it were free.

I was kind of hoping troopers would be a ranged class. Early on it look like they would be using ranged weapons and grenades for ranged dps. But now it seems they will be the main tanks. I will probably skip them.

But more to the topic, role playing a clone should not be difficult, you should be injecting a little bit of yourself in there anyway.. right?

Been playing again recently. there seems to be a huge influx of players now, I was able to chain join PvE groups for 2 or 3 hours straight yesterday. It was a lot of fun.

You wont be able to run it with that rig. The performance hit is huge and only top end machines will be able to handle it.

I do want to mention, on the plus side, that the GPU shadow options with newer cards can make the game look great. I just re-subbed and I am having a blast. 3.0 is a let down, but more so in the way it looks than performs.

3.0 makes EVERYTHING look shiny, and it just feels weird.

Also, imo, newer zones look better. I have been away from EQ 2 since KOS and as I travel Norrath to expansion ares the game looks better.

Havok is absolutely right, I know from experience running several guilds that you simply can't force a community no matter what your intentions may be.

You just have to have fun and be good at what you do(the game), and people will be drawn to it and follow you.
