Everything you wanted to know about LotRO but were too busy fending off an invasion of Uruk-hai to find out

Yeah like a lot of EU'ers I've updated my US client and have wandered around Landroval just to get a look at the store. I welcome the change but wish Codies to pull their fingers out :@

Free for All: Turbine's pristine payment plan perfects pay-to-win

Amen to that! I have little time (FT.Job + GF = timeSink) but much spare cash. I can say that I will be purchasing controversial items such as rep mounts.

The way I work this out is simple:

If I work out how much

I can play 10-20 hours a week maybe and I'm not a great fan of the grind so I might make Kindred status within a couple of months (I get bored very very easily)

From what I have seen a faction mount might cost 1495 Turbine points which roughly equates to $19 ( 1500 Turbine points is $18.99 or around £13 ).

I pay £9 a month subscription. Two months of that would be £18 (roughly $27) and a hell of a grind-induced headache.

Meh for me I would gladly pay out for the TP and spend that two months strutting around looking like a prize eejit. Just my 2 Turbine Points mind...

I couldn't agree more. In a perfect world (and especially in a virtual world), it shouldn't matter if what colour your skin in or what you sexual preference it. The case above was actually between officer and the kinship leader which made it even more difficult and labourious than if they'd been mere minions, as it were.

I am just saying above that, like in real life, you should merely be careful. The last thing you want is RL encroaching on your game-space.

"I'm a girl, I already know how boobs work because I have them, why would I want to stare at a scantily-clad avatar all day?"

Thankyou! I almost always used to play female characters. I mean I'm a bloke, I already know how boobs work because I stare at them, why wouldn't I want to stare at a scantily-clad avatar all day? XD

Captain's Log: Nine more tips for ground combat

Jul 2nd 2010 5:29AM (Massively)
I do the same, InfamousBrad. I only take one tactical and one engineer BO. My main is a science officer so I take two of those with me - one healer, one crowd control. Depending upon the enemy type I then switch kits depending on how hammered I am getting - healer / crowd control.

It's also worth noting that when kitting up your BO's that it is essential to equip them with weapons that can expose mobs (the orange flashing target appears), allowing any of your team (and yourself) to exploit that mob and usually vapourize them. I cannot stress enough how often this turns the tide of a ground battle. For example, I use a polaron sniper rifle. Between me and my science officer BO we can almost always expose a random mob once per 10-20 seconds thanks to the Tachyon Harmonic ability . I then cycle to this exposed mob with the tab key and use the sniper shot ability dealing usually over 1200 hpts of damage. I just love vapourising mobs!!!

I also rarely use focused fire unless I see an enemies which is particularily nasty. Then yes this is very useful...

One thing I have noticed that I SWEAR is a bug is the exploration missions - you know where you have to explore the Yawn System in the BLah Blah Who Cares 3 Cluster? If you are unfortunate enough to be given a random mission which involves ground combat you will notice that the mobs are extraordinarily powerful or is it me?
