Semi-finalists announced in EVE Online's starship design contest

I think we can all agree, at least those of us that have played EVE, that there's such a thing as looking "EVE-ish." So, while there's lots of interesting designs on there, many of them had very little relevance to EVE. I think they should've just shoved all the designs to the EVE art dept. and let them decide, because the few that deviantART chose aren't particularly EVE-y.

Interesting that almost all the designs are pretty symmetrical, whereas the beauty of EVE is that many ship designs are not symmetrical. I looked at some of those pictures and thought "If you just cut off that wing, but left the other one, I'd say that was pretty EVE-ish." A few other things:

1) Of the designs that were themed after one of the races of EVE, many of them were Minmatar. Can't really blame them, as Minmatar are probably the most visual interesting of the races. I play Amar, though. :)

2) Everyone wants a battleship. Made me sad that there were very few frigate designs. Is that what the contest asked for?

EVE wormhole exploit is fixed

I find it interesting that a corp has found such a niche. Am I correct in assuming that the majority of corps that choose to live in wormhole space are small and not part of a larger political entity, and therefore the fallout from attacking such a corp would be minimal?

I would also imagine that the salvage from these invasions would be the driving force behind them? Besides, you know, the simple fun of destroying something/someone else.

"...Rooks and Kings, a corporation that wormhole-dwelling corps have learned to fear for its precision invasions of colonised wormhole systems."

Are you afraid, Mr. Drain? :)

Mr. Greene, I suggest if you're going to be working as a professional that you change your email address to something more appropriate. Emailing someone @thatgaynerd just makes me lose any respect I may have had for that person.

EVE Evolved: What could planetary interaction be like?

Feb 22nd 2010 1:43AM (Massively)
One good thing that could come from atmospheric flight is the re-valuing of frigates. Last I played, frigates were the purview of beginners and low-sec shenanigans. From what I read today, it's still that way. Does small ship combat accomplish anything meaningful or is it something you do when you're bored? Someone can help clarify that for me. Anyways, with atmospheric flight perhaps the role of frigates in major battles can be revived using planets.

EVE Evolved: The development of Incarna

Brendan,

Any comment or new word on Incarna being a testing ground for the WoD MMO that CCP have in development using White Wolf Studios?
