Peek into the future of Star Wars: The Old Republic's Legacy system

Mar 7th 2012 8:28AM (Massively)
That's fine, but as far as I'm concerned any ability that cannot be used in PvE and PvP should be scrapped. I never liked the idea of abilities that only work on weak and standard mobs. Why even add these abilities? I don't get the point... so you can pwn weak mobs? I mean, it would be cool if people actually did "regular open world pvp." I can count the number of enemy players I have ran into on both characters on both hands. So this open world pvp is almost non-existent.

IMO the Legacy System is garbage. You unlock already playable races? Unlock spells that are only usable in PvE? I dunno... I mean it's cool people like this stuff, but for me it's not exciting at all. I guess I was expecting too much.

@Rhazes Totally agree. I have said the Voss should've been a playable race since I saw them. What is the point of this New SPecies Unlock? I really thought we were going to unlock NEW species. How anybody can get excited about this is beyond me. I guess I'll just have to see what the rest of the Legacy System has to offer. So far, it doesn't seem all too special, though. I guess it's cool for PvE with the abilites, but is there anything for PvP?

So the legacy unlocks already playable races for certain classes? Yay? The way they were talking about it before, it sounded like it would be races that were not playable. Also legacy abilities only usable in PvE? lol... I mean I get it, but that's stupid to me. Just like the skills that only work on weak or standard mobs. Might as well just not have it. The only thing that looks like it might be good is the WZ.

@Resurge lol what? I've been hearing "patch drops" for so long now.

SWTOR's lead PvP designer answers community questions

Mar 1st 2012 8:20PM (Massively)
@digitalheadbutt No I don't have a clue what it takes. What I do know is, this guy doesn't have any common sense when it comes to PvP. The first iteration of Ilum wasn't PvP at all, and I would have seen that coming easily. I would have also saw that making a player kill quest in a pvp zone with no point to it would have turned into what it is now.

Another thing that I think is horrible design is the speeders in Civil War that go to the sides. It just makes it too easy for defenders to come back. Now I hear they're making it so you can cap with a dot on you. Really? lol

@digitalheadbutt He doesn't deserve to be fired, but he needs to be replaced as the Lead PvP Designer.

The only question this guy needs to answer is "Why the hell am I the lead PvP Designer?" Dude is horrible and needs to be replaced with someone who has some common sense. Why he thought adding a kill quest to a zone that has NO POINT TO IT, is beyond me. WHen there is no true objective of course it was bound to be a zergfest.

Really, I could care less if it was a miracle MMO for everyone, but only for me. It's been a long time since I've payed a MMO that lasted more than a few months.
