The Daily Grind: Still hyped for Star Wars: The Old Republic?

Meh. Bioware makes great single-player interactive stories, sure. Have they ever been known for their good balance, deep character customization (outside of games using the DnD system), or bug-free games?

Color me skeptical. Sure the missions will be good though.

Love or hate Smart...gotta like his bluntness.

The Daily Grind: What's the MMO you played the longest?

WoW: The Burning Crusade

I say TBC specifically because it was like a whole other game. I was a hardcore raider at the time, and every night myself and 24 friends would take on challenges in Black Temple and Sunwell that were unforgiving even to the most efficient group.

I'm not going to cry too much over WoW becoming far, far easier today (as it is better for more people), but...for those of us who loved the brutal difficulty without easy-modes, our game was kinda taken away.

@Amana: Does this count if a player ressurects you? Because with a game that has dungeons, that would be pretty bad indeed.

I saw "Fear of Death". It sounds exactly like WoW's "Ressurection Sickness".

What's the big problem again?

Stuck at work, but I'm eager to get home and try it out. The WoW-ish graphics put me off at first, but on a second glance it's a little less exaggerated and the men don't look like steroid-abusing apes.

Anyone have much experience with the Warden class? I'm going to try that first.

Do you REALLY own a table saw, Sera?

That's so hot.

While I don't care for Cryptic or STO, they did a remarkable job in 18 months of development time.

I'll follow that up with: how much better would the game be if it had a typical MMO development time? (3-4 years?)

Titan's Quest was selling for $5 on Steam though (expansion included), kind of a steal for an amusing Diablo-Clone. It's not a terrible game.

A persons asks if CO and STO share the same engine and if dropping STO code directly into CO caused some recent bugs, and the dev replies the games run on separate servers.

Way to completely not answer the question!

Overall this was a lackluster QA session that gave no real information at all, something CO holdouts desperately need to have faith in their game. I'd actually like to be excited about CO, but they blew this chance on very vague promises and evasive answers.
