He's indicating that, despite the 'free' moniker, the game is actually a moneysink as far as value is concerned.
I have a hard time seeing how anyone on a budget enjoys a free-to-play game. Even though I have plenty of money (good job, etc.) I hate being treated like a cash cow.
I can see where you wouldn't include the Merlin because it isn't the noobiest friendly around, but it is a GREAT frigate to train for early on. And you could argue that the Griffin's ECM isn't the best use of your early SP.
If this guy was just hosting IRC servers then he hasn't done anything illegal. So far we have yet to hear of anything else he is supposed to have done.
I'm much more interested in the (hopefully) impending arrest of the snitches Lulzsec outed today. Should be fun to watch.
