Exclusive Allods Online IRC Q&A: Darren Allarde and Shelby Goad take on your questions pt. 2

Jul 12th 2010 7:25PM (Massively)
I can not help but shake my head in and sigh a bit. I left the game early on when the first issues with the cash shop bag price became apparent even though eventually that was fix I was aware as were many others of this particular patch even then.

It is a shame that some decide to TRUST gpotato and and the producers of that game that they would never release this patch in it current russian form ever. But quite a few months later here we are with a slightly modified version that has just about all the bad that was in the russian version hitting the English servers.

I can't help but wonder why anyone though that they could trust gpotato to actually try and do the right thing to keep customers? Sadly I saw it coming early on and I didn't waste my time in that what some would consider nightmare scenario right now. Well either way I wish those that are still playing luck but don't say you were not warned ages ago. >

Gala-Net releases Allods trailer

While it is true that it might be fun we as a community know what the future will most likely bring. Anyone that refuses to see that is just trying to deny the facts presented.

I personally can't picture myself playing a game where I would have to buy continually from a item shop to play pve or pvp end game. or for that matter a time when the a future Russian patch will cripple players and buff monsters out of the water making the balance of the game shift dramatically for the less fun side.

While I loved the graphics and game play I feel that the way the game is being handled is not one in which I want to put any of my gaming time in.
Nor for that matter many of us have fun with it by all means but I think I will go to another game that isn't going to literally take the fun out of the game without having to buy gameshop items.

I personally looking forward to raising my pran not that I have yet to play the game, however it really does sound interesting to be able to raise a child which is a twist on a regular mmo to say the lease.

Yes some peope are just paranoid and a bit off the deep end when coming up with the idea that massively supports any one mmo.

Though funny to read I tend to get a bit tired of hearing people like that screaming that kind of nonsense.

I have been playing Fantasy Earth Zero and I can say you have to picture final fantasy tactics with the same music composer. But picture it without as many classes or for that matter a lot of story outside of the back story as far as I can tell so far.

Basically its pure pvp for the most part where kingdoms fight 50 0n 50 max in territories 7 continents /kingdoms with 13 territories each winner takes territory for their country for set period of time until another kingdom with territory next to that territory declares war again on that territory and the two sides fight again for control of said territory.

It truly boggles my mind that a company can destroy itself in this manner this quick. I thought what was cryptic was doing in campions online with its new expansion costing money seems like nothing compared to what gpotato is now doing. I know I will not be returning to that game even though I had hopes that they would see the light.

Not holding my breathe on this one but I give it a listen.

The Daily Grind: Soured on Allods Online?

Feb 22nd 2010 12:04PM (Massively)
The Cash shop might be silly to you but its a very important thing to other especially with the way gpotato has been acting as of late.

As for the bugs and lack of features that have become almost excepted at launch of most games even open beta I have to say allods has been very sloppy if you ask me.

But really anyone that has experience losing money or items in game are really the ones hurting the most it is time lost and something that should be working for sure when we put our trust in a game features like the Auction House and Mailman aka (mailbox).

The Daily Grind: Soured on Allods Online?

Feb 22nd 2010 11:16AM (Massively)
Yes I have been playing for the last week myself. Things I have notice outside the cash shop being way overpriced are as follows.

Lack of quest mobs and or quest items.

Long respawn on quest items in game example Treasure chest on oneof the first area outside the starting area for league playerstakes well over 10 minutes to respawn at times.

Lack of the ability to break stack sizes up.

Lack of bag space for sure and I might add 24 bag spaces,
why it might sound nice is not near enough for the amount of loot and items we get
Which in turn making it a constant run to a vendor or Auction House to empty your bag.

Oh and the thing that kills me the most outside of the extremely long grind for a FREE 24 slot bag would be the Auction House and Mailbox npc.
I mean two of the most important items for trade and revenue for most players is literally broken, So what is the point of a Auction House where you lose items half the time when posting.
Or a mailman that loses items sold and you get no money for selling or not getting the items you bought?

Lack of chat functions also make for, if you don't minimize your window, a spam fest at times .
Along with lacking a efficient ignore ability which i might add doesn't work half the time if you can get a spammer on your list assuming you can find it and get the name put in correctly makes for fun times in chat.

This on a whole has left me bitter a game highly recommended by massively turns out to be broken in key areas along with the lack of communication and the cash shop prices off the rocker for prices one has to wonder what the heck.

I mean I love the game overall as much as the next person and I want to see it succeed.
However as it currently stand the way gpotato is treating the game along with lack of quest mobs and items and just the general lack of ability to send replies and issues to the GMs.
Or getting any communication at all I am left wondering, where to go to next as this game has left me bewildered and dishearten with the way it been treated so far.

Captain's Log: The great skill cap debate

Jan 28th 2010 5:12PM (Massively)
While I am all for respecs in game I hope they don't take it to the level like how champions online now has it for respecing. Hope they stay true to their word on being able to pay in game money to redo one's spec. As for the early start friday hope to see you there I am at lease giving this silly game a months try.
