Why should a company that has had success "share" with its corporate competitors, that is completely insane!!! Not to mention WoW has a good thing going, why chance a 3rd party producing garbage and ruining the games good name.
For "the best" motherboard I would have recommended an Asus board because generally those boards set the industry standards. Of course the price of their boards would tack on another $200+, but then again this was supposed to be an "epic" build.
In regards to video cards and playing WoW, you really don't need much of a card at all, as most of the graphics are rendered by CPU. I am able to get the same frame rate out of a 4 year old card as I am with my gtx295's in SLI. A solid video card is all you need, which at most vendors today would go for about $100 (even that may be overkill for WoW). WoTLK did bring performance demands up a bit with real shadows and lighting here and there, but the new water effects will be even less demanding than these.
Like others have said, you really don't need much to play WoW, it is designed this way so that it can run on as many systems as possible. I would focus more on the CPU and Ram than anything else.
Just my honest opinion. I have many years experience in the field.
