Well as my post was simply deleted since I disagreed with the writer (and not voted down as far as I can tell) I will be following my MMO news elsewhere. I used no profanity and simply stated exactly what the article was. Another desperate attempt to say Bioware has somehow failed because they didn't do what one of Massively's writers or readers thinks should have been done. I have visited your site for a few years now and I hope that your nonsensical removal of my comments was worth the loss of another reader.
"If Bioware puts "everybody gets equal romance options" in at launch, FOX and the rest will be screaming "Gay Sex In Star Wars Game ... FOR CHILDREN!!!" to any fool stupid enough to believe it."
But Mysecretid, Faux News has never bothered to wait for facts about anything to report it before. They may have run the story even if Bioware never put it in and never spoke of it.
Pitiful article. Your ideas were so vague as to simply spell out a problem that from the comments seems to primarily plague you. I know you really attempted to write something you believe in, and kudos for that. But if you were hoping to find a huge collection of us that think MMORPGs should be MMO-FPR-RPGs then I think you fell short in your aim. You are simply laying another unlit log on the burnt out bonfire that is "Bioware you should have solved every damn problem in all of the MMO Universe when you made SWTOR.". The fact that you chose to pick on what will likely be a very popular game was an obvious attempt to make many of us respond angrily. You should have kept your not especially brilliant comments about MMO combat more widely focused and hit on the topic as a whole. The response from your readers wouldn't have been so hostile, and you may have made people think you were trying to do something other than write another sensationalized piece of B.S. about TOR.
Chuckasucka said "I think it's a typical Bioware game in that aspect, and although I own a bunch of their games, I haven't ever been able to play more than 8 hours into any of them because the world just falls apart."
I think the rest of us are really happy that TOR may be a "typical Bioware game" as each one has been excellent in my eyes and although not every interaction is gold both of the KOTOR games have offered superior story telling and some difficult gameplay (unless you save after each fight). I have only played Mass Effect 1 but it was also very well done. The whole reason we have been following this game for so long isn't just that it's a Star Wars game. We have all been disapointed in those over and over again. We are all excited that Bioware is making a Star Wars MMO. They are the only company to produce a great Star Wars game since the original wireframe death star run from Atari IMO.
Ya Blizzard will announce that they are going to continue to have an MMO that is losing customers, has no story, very little voice acting, and is state of the art (if you happened to live in a cloistered monastery for the last 6 years).
I will start playing again when it gets past free to play. When they start paying people to play this very poor, limited, repetitive, boring game I will re-download the client and continue my lifetime subscription *twirls finger excitedly*.
