I couldn't agree more with this statement. Maybe a while down the road Cryptic will fail again but who knows. Comparing any new MMO to WoW in its current state is just dumb. WoW is a great game but they had issues at the beginning too. Blizzard just outshines all other companies when it comes to content updates (besides Turbine who does a fine job with LOTRO and D&D content).

I'll give it some time before I call it a steaming pile of shit.

The beta was ok and it is a casual gamer's game, but it wasn't the worst MMO I've ever played. I may be in the minority but I thought it was an 'ok' game. Not great, but ok. Released a tad bit early IMO.

There is a lot of bad press for this game. It's a miracle people are even playing it.

There is a vocal minority that really loves it too. I'm torn to play it. I didn't mind the Beta just a little rough around the edges and VERY casual friendly. I don't care about microtransactions or anything of that nature, I just won't buy them. I suppose that's the point of them, it's business and I don't fault Cryptic for trying to make a buck. Heck EA rips us off constantly on Xbox Live. 3.99 for madden tutorials? Now that's low. :P

I'm probably going to stick with WoW for now and maybe play Star Trek as a casual second. I'll wait till the server hiccups are dealt with before I even consider purchasing though. Unfortunately all those head starters are really feeling that pain.
