The Daily Grind: What's your E3 highlight?

Jun 18th 2010 2:16PM (Massively)
I agree, 100%. After that article, I'm pretty much sold on Rifts, and everything it represents.

Also, I couldn't believe how awesome 40k looked. I know, I know, 3 years, but still, I'm excited for it.

E3 2010: Interview with Warhammer 40K's Mark Downie

Something about that release date seems odd. I mean, three years from now, even after having so much in-game footage, and already having a game engine established, and after working on it for 'several years'? Was he trying to down play the 2010 Theory? Or, was he really being serious? :/

And, when he said they will be at GenCon and that they would be launching a community site, did he mean that they would be launching the community site during GenCon, or the site has an impending launch?

Or, does designing a website take an enormous amount of time as well? lol.

If you can team with Darkseid, there won't even be a need to be a hero. :p

E3 2010: Hands-on with Rift: Planes of Telara

After reading this article, and looking through the beautiful screens, I have to say I totally agree.

I didn't know there would be PvP Lakes, which is one of my favorite concepts of any game. (Honestly, WAR is one of my favorite games for this very reason. I know, shun me if you will...) But, I love Open PvP, I love crafting, and I've never really cared either way about special roleplay rules. So, this is looking right up my alley.

One question, though. What about the lawsuit with Palladium? Will that change the concept of this game, or will it simply change the name of the game?

Bioware discuss SWTOR player ships, group gameplay and PvP at E3

Jun 15th 2010 6:24PM (Massively)
I just got through watching the G4 coverage, and let me say, wow. At first, I didn't know how I was feeling about this game, I knew it looked good, but I was afraid that it was going to be a single-player rpg with a bunch of my friends talking to me through a chat box, which I wasn't going to pay for.

But after hearing about PvP Lakes or "Warzones", the levels of customization, and the need to have groups for some quests, I'm totally sold.

"Do you happen to have a link to your source for this information?"

The link was Gary, from Bioware, standing on stage announcing it to the world. Maybe try and watch E3?

ArenaNet reveals traits and Warrior class for Guild Wars 2

Jun 9th 2010 7:39PM (Massively)
@Devil

I was thinking that it could be an innate ability of the weapon as well, but on the actual Warrior page of the Guild Wars 2 website, the video is divided into different abilities that the Warrior has. The one with the bow-and-arrow is called "Arcing Shot".

http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/warrior/
(When you scroll down to the video, there is little thumbnail images on the right hand side of the video player. Click the arrow one.)

So, I'm not really sure what to think about this. Maybe we will see the "Ranger" class disappear. I can see that totally being the case now. The bow-and-arrow/Rifle abilities are going to be ate up by the Warrior, and their ability to have secondary weapon sets, and maybe the pet ability going to a conjuring-type class, like a Necro?

I'm not sure, but we shall see.

Either way, the game looks f'n amazing. :)
