Mortal Online launch day roundup

Jun 9th 2010 7:41PM (Massively)
Here's a quick tip then, serra(and other new players in general)! If you're looking for a relatively safe starting area, try to start in Meduli. It's a major trade hub, and hunting/gathering is pretty convenient. Gaul Kor and Kranesh are the home of chaos and bloodshed in the streets. Fabernum... while a nice place to start is probably laggier because everyone starts there(It also draws all the murderers nearby). Morin Khur and Toxai are probably not best suited to new players just because of how massive they are. Starting area choice is determined by race.

And one last thing..Learn the land! Because night in MO is DARK.

Mortal Online launch day roundup

It's surprisingly smooth in game, there are bugs still, but luckily non of them major(as far as I've seen.) I admit at the end of open beta the game was in a sorry state...But damn they've really cleaned the game up since then.

The Daily Grind: What are your summer MMO plans?

Of course, I'll be doing the Mortal Online thing for the summer(since I've been the beta for a while now), although I might check out APB when it comes out.

Well once launch comes around, it's gonna be a hoot assuming the engine merge hasn't done all kinds of nasty things to the ingame systems...Hopefully,that isn't the case.

Mortal Online lifts the NDA

As a person who has seen the game literally transform over the course of development through the good and bad, I have to say..the dreaded words that indeed, the game has a massive amount of potential.

You guys will see alot of the word "potential" thrown about here and on the MO forums, and that is because the game is well, still in development.

As beta testers we have seen the shell of a game gradually come to life, and it's because of this that we have so much faith in the devs behind the game. We know they're dedicated to making that "dream" game, and we're willing to follow on them on that journey.

The current state of the game, while already enjoyable, is not there yet. We still have many final systems that have yet to be implemented into the game yet. But even without all the features in game yet, MO has already succeeded in being one of the most immersive games I've ever played.

That's including Darkfall, WoW, GW among other games over the years. Hell, the "place holder" crafting system we have now already puts many other MMOs to shame.

Yes, there are bugs and yes, many features are unpolished or as of yet still to be implemented.

But to be trite again, yes the game has a massive amounts of potential.

Darkfall's newest expansion to release next week

Hey think of it this way...At least they don't charge extra for the expansions. Twenty five bucks for the core, and then twenty five bucks for everything that will come in the future.
