This really just sounds like a online version of "Marvel Ultimate Aliiance".
Anyone that's played COH or CO knows the character customization and freedom of power choice is a major appeal to those games. Half the gamers there are aspiring comic book artists and other creative types, with tons of alts and costumes.
I don't think this game will steal any of the current audience of super hero games. It sounds much more consol based, small vision, short term profits.
I agree with most everything, except #2. I still like the people running up to me on the street asking for autographs.
The character design system is a real bear if your not the sort of player that likes to invest a lot of time into it. I love spending 2 days in the PowerHouse testing every possible build. That's just me. Would have helped if the Archetypes were a little more dynamic builds. They seem somewhat stal, missing some fun power combos.
I take great pride killing people in PVP with a not popular build. Now if I can just get my Snake Gulch Lasso kill on a person, that will be my crowning moment.
This game would be so much cooler if it wasn't Star Wars. Should have been a Mass Effect MMO. Star Wars unfortunately has the George Lucas taint on it after those last 3 movies.
Loved AO. I did about a year upon launch, and went back recently to adventure again for a year. I miss the early launch days where ever city and spawn aerea was packed with people.
Going back, 1-60 is very well structured, with quest paths and dungeons to visit. After that I'd head to Shadowlands, that place is graphically the most interesting place.
Agent is a class that truely is unique to this game, being able to mimic other classes in the game. Adventurer had fun shapeshifting and versatile weapon set ups. Engineer was fun, once you start getting the slayers and bigger bots.
