SOE confirms subscription model for DCUO

Jun 21st 2010 4:55PM (Massively)
It's $10 a month for 30 days of unlimited play, or $7 for 20 hours that doesn't expire. The social district is also completely free (After buying the game) meaning those 20 hours are ONLY used while in the action district.

The item mall you are talking about is for player made items or other items players find if they CHOOSE to sale them for RTW points. In the market place you have the option of selling things you have for APB dollars which is in-game currency or RTW points which you can use to buy game time. Meaning the game can be completely free if you are creative enough or know how to work the market.

So learn your facts before commenting lol.

And in any case, I see the value in APB for what I will be paying. As I said I simply do not see that in DCUO and thats what matters to me, not your opinion lol.

Awww, I was looking forward to this title. With the confirmation of a monthly fee, and it being $14.99 a month I'm gonna have to pass. I don't see this being more than a side MMO for me. I was expecting a free to play model with an item mall type setup to buy some customization options and power set type of things.

Or at the very most an option of paying a monthly fee of like $10 dollars for complete access or playing for free and having to buy some of the power sets or customization options off of the item mall.

With a flat $14.99 or the $14.99 plus an item mall I will have to pass because the value just isn't there for me.

It was going to be between this and APB being my side MMO and APB just won :(

But I do wish the game and the devs well. At least it means one less game I need to worry about following.

Well, not going to comment to much on your review but as far as the retcon goes those against it on the side of it shouldn't be there until in game means to aquire the retcons were a little more obtainable was not only legit but won out.

Cryptic is adding in a free retcon that you can get when your toon hits 40. Combine that with retcons being purchasable in game I am fine with retcons being on the C store.

See, normal means for retconing a toon in CO is unbelievably impossible for most. The cost at 40 to retcon is more than you will have made if you saved every penny your toon earned from level 1 to level 40. This is insane compaired to any other MMO.

Even if you failed to realise this it's not a big deal since Cryptic has and there the ones we were complaining to.

Glad you wrote a review to point out how wrong those against the retcon being on the C store were when Cryptic deemed we were correct and is in the process in making things right.

So............... take that as you will.
