Champions Online cuts the craft in favor of the mod scene

Mar 31st 2012 8:13AM (Massively)
Let's hope all this great work to get new people and keeping the players from leaving is not going to waste bescause of the game horrible reputation.
I couldn't even test the alerts on pts because of the lack of people queuing.

Grab, smash, and burst: Champions Online summarizes Alerts

Been trying to test it for weeks now, but even with auto-grouping, it seems nobody's on the pts.
And i've been queuing for hours now.
That's champ for you.

Champions Online previews the new Specialization system

I would have been psyched about this a year ago, but today...
maybe if they stop revemping the SAME low levels zones again and again to attract new customers who becomes bored within a week because there's bo endgame, or If they include meaningfull content, then maybe... MAYBe, i'll be interested in this new system.
right now it's just giving a baseball bat to a kid but no ball.

and I now alerts are coming, but i'm waiting to see the final product. King of the hill was so successful that no one even step a foot over there anymore.
I logged in last night, to see only around two hundred people logged on. I wonder how they still manage to find money.

TERA recaps the most recent closed beta weekend, concludes that PvP players enjoy PvP

I'm always cautious about koreans mmo, because they all look / play the same. I know the basic gameplay of tera is unique, but I fear it might just become like all of those korean mmos, a soulless grindfest.

How does it looks so far ? Is there some stuff to do outside grinding gear ? Is there a hint of a story ?

The Daily Grind: What game have you fallen back in love with most often?

Mar 4th 2012 4:08PM (Massively)
It used to be Wow, strangely.
I tend to get long period without any mmo activity, followed by a few months being a nolife. Wow was always a place I came back, not because I missed it, but because I wondered what was new "back home".
but a almost a year after the release of cataclysm, I decided to try it.
...
It's not home anymore. I don't know, it doesn't feel like this game I have tons and tons of guild memories anymore. The places are the same (although damaged), but everyone is riding a dragon, wearing some kind of space-medieval flashy armor bursting flames from it's shoulderpads, and my arcane mage's now only needs two spell in it's rotation.
I felt a bit disheartened running through dungeons looking like boring corridors, judging them "soulless" while reminding myself about the pure awesomeness of blackrock depths.
Vanilla and BC were great times.

En Masse details TERA's roleplay server ruleset

Mar 3rd 2012 3:26PM (Massively)
Theses rules are never enforced, even when violated in the most obvious ways.
On Rift (rp server) I saw guys with really offensive names, and even after reporting them, they're still here, with the same names. great.

the only game where it was really enforced was LOTRO, during the early days. back then you couldn't even create a character with a japanese name.

Enter at Your Own Rift: Looking back at RIFT's first year

I really do love this game.
I've been playing almost every AAA titles and lots of F2P, and Rift is by far the most polished game released these past years. and trion just knows how to keep it's players busy with regular world events... FUN world events, not like in WOW where it felt like a hassle to do them (well, at least for me).
But I still don't understand all the hate this game garners from people not even playing it...

Leaderboard: Lockboxes yea vs. lockboxes nay

Champions online grab bags are the devil.
...
But I found some use for them, they sell at unreasonable prices in the AH.
So getting a fixed amount of money for each buy isn't such a lottery after all.
