BioWare: There is another (free TOR weekend trial)

Mar 20th 2012 5:03PM (Massively)
I'm betting it's a precursor to opening the first fifteen levels up as free to play. They've learned quite a bit from Blizzard. This could be just one more thing to borrow.

The Daily Grind: Do you expect a roleplaying server to be policed?

Mar 18th 2012 10:41AM (Massively)
I think the community can do a good enough job policing the server themselves. All I really want from the publisher is the tools to help that along.

Give me a solid ignore feature that hides a players nameplate and chat on all channels (including emotes) and I'm a happy camper. Aside from that, I love it when GM's give forced name changes to the real idiots, and choose something with a scarlet letterish stigma for them.

The Daily Grind: Do social media tie-ins annoy you?

Mar 17th 2012 8:52AM (Massively)
Yes. I have a Facebook page simply for entering contests, betas and logging into certain games....and I resent having to. It currently has about 100 pending friend requests and has nothing on it! Don't people have anything better to do than to send friend requests to strangers?

I miss the old days when we weren't compelled to be social....or the internet equivalent of it. I miss the freedom of being a net hermit.

The Daily Grind: Have you ever traveled specifically for a gaming event?

Mar 8th 2012 8:07AM (Massively)
Never for electronic gaming. I used to go to Origins, DragonCon and GenCon almost every year though.

The Daily Grind: Are you an MMO hoarder?

I never throw anything that's potentially useful away. I've resigned myself to a life of multiple bank alts and bag manager addons.

Diablo III sort of confirmed for Q2 2012

Feb 10th 2012 2:10PM (Massively)
@Deadalon
With the game 100% on Battlenet, it will be a simple matter to regionalize the RMAH. They won't delay the release of the game for it...they'll simply roll out AH access to different areas at different times (if at all) as their legal issues are ironed out.

Q2 does seem to be a bit farfetched. There are major game mechanics that haven't made it into the beta yet. Perhaps they're really feeling the pinch and will release it with only alpha/friends&family beta testing of those features....we'll see.

Battle.net Balance boots up

So I can use that fancy yellow crossbow from Diablo to pay for my WoW account. Interesting.

It looks like Blizzard has been paying attention to CCP.

SWTOR unsubscribe option goes missing for some [Updated]

@Maseno

Twenty minutes later you're unexpectedly disconnected and have to sit in the four hour long phone queue all over again.

Oh wait, this isn't Blizzard.

The Daily Grind: What's the longest an MMO's been out before you've tried it?

Jan 18th 2012 8:54AM (Massively)
I've tried several lately (notably Champions and DCUO) when they've gone F2P. Supers isn't really a preferred genre for me, but I'll try anything if the price is right.

It took me about two years to get around to trying EVE...and another couple before I liked the trial enough to buy into it.

I was in WoW during late beta...but didn't buy in at the beginning. I played EQ2 for around a year and then jumped to WoW.

EQ was probably around for two years or so before I tried it. I forget what I was playing at the time (likely UO or DAoC), but was perfectly happy where I was.
