They have delayed the last 3 expansions, which means they are behind to an extent that they can't catch up. So quit over-promising and catch up. Once is understandable, maybe even twice. Three times is not. Get you're act together, CCP.
Neurotic, Soo, I should show empathy to the people that put out a defective product and collect money for said product and then condemn people that unknowingly benefit from the defectiveness of that product; the very people that pay for them to have a job at all? There are many ways I am empathetic and there are many ways I am not. But you? You suffer from misguided empathy AND you're a putz.
You know, there are two sides to this coin. If there is an exploit, it's cause the programmers are inept and are missing things. If they are so willing to ban someone for exploiting something like this when they did not know they were doing as such, I would say that Turbine/DDO be boycotted. I mean, if you can get punished for doing something that you didn't know you were doing, then the programmers/turbine/DDO should be punished for doing something they did not know they were doing.
I think all numbers like this should be, at least, shown in the game and I have always said as much, including past posts here. I think that is the single biggest flaw in MMOs. These games shouldn't be about getting to the next level. Like a poster said above, it should be about the journey and not the destination. I don't think it should be about "I need to get to level 40 so I can get this item". It should be about the event, and not the number behind the event.
Let's see here.. People who play games they love and enjoy talking about it and sharing their achievements with each other?
or
People who play games they love but would rather stay in the closet and trash people that talk about their achievements playing the games that they love when those same trash talkers attempt those same achievements.
Also, games ARE a part of real life. They create bonding and so much more. It is YOU that is stuck on the stigma, not the people that enjoy it. You should seek help with your anti-social personality disorder. Seriously.
People are never going to stay with the game with a UI that is broken as much as it is. Until CCP understands this they will keep shooting themselves in the foot. Maybe Incursion will fix a lot of this. I notice a lot of techie-type people play Eve. It makes sense with the type of game it is, but I also think it is in part cause the techie types tend to deal better with UI crap. Also, this marketing push would be better served AFTER Incarna release where you will have more to keep the newbs around.
