Part of the fun of EVE is that you can relax from the usual social rules of life and concentrate on...well, warfare, including a large psychological component. I don't think EVE should discourage this ingame per se, though it's obviously a problem when it spills out of the game. The ability to be a ruthless evil bastard is a big part of the attraction of games like EVE, and rightfully so, since it's something that we (hopefully) don't get to do in real life.
This game will be perfect. Arena can do no wrong. Those who believe otherwise will be burned at the stake (stakes cost 3500 gems, fire cost 2500 for five uses).
You've seen better trailers from 10 years ago, but not better trailers from 10 years ago that used in-game graphics.
This trailer was all in-game graphics, with a few non-in-game animations (like the guy pointing towards an enemy while sitting in the jeeps) tacked on after the fact. Yeah, that was a bad move and made it look a little weird. But the in-game graphics are still quite a bit ahead of the original Planetside, which is less than 10 years old (though not for all that much longer).
Looking forward to having another big MMORTS to play around with. I think the closest I've seen to this in the past was Battleforge, which was a lot of fun for the first few months.
Eh, based on the fact that it's playable now and has been in closed beta for months already, I'm pretty sure it's on track to at least come out sometime this summer. Unless it blows up in open beta.
