It will be familiar because normal humans from Earth are an important part of the game and we're familiar with the skills and classes. But you can throw in all sorts of aliens, entities, weird natural objects for people to enjoy. But will it be too convenient to solo? After all in the series', one ship could do a lot.
May be we'll never get the sci-fi equivalent of World of Warcraft or even old school games like Everquest.
