Personally, I think they missed the point. Santos is correct in that the problem lies not with the distance but the route of our connection to the US.
If we will have a server located on a place where our connection will travel less (or more direct), we will have a better ping, otherwise, even if the server is located besides our PCs but our connection from the PC to that server hops from one place to another around the world, it wouldn't be any better.
And, as someone in Asia-Pacific as well, we don't have a good route to the US East Coast.
Hmm, by your article, Barron misunderstood the difference between Activision-Blizzard and Blizzard Entertainment.
_Most_ gamers know that "Activision-Blizzard" is the new name of the merged companies of "Activision" and "VU Games". VU Games being the parent company of Blizzard Entertainment and Sierra.
After the merger and establishment of the new company "Activision-Blizzard", Sierra was completely absorbed (or dissolved to be exact) while Blizzard Entertainment is retained as a separate entity.
Of course, if there's a chance to change a company's name - it was this merger. Pick the highly valued brand name, in this case, "Blizzard" instead of "VU Games" (or "Sierra"). Activision-Sierra? Activision-VUGames? or Activision-Blizzard?
Blizzard Entertainment is still Blizzard Entertainment. A separate entity. A subsidiary - if you will. Their parent company had a change in structure and name, and their sister company eaten out. But they're still "Blizzard Entertainment, Inc."
We need a new set of BGs to refresh it. It has become a grinding game instead of being fun and challenging. Almost every time it is "each to his own". Do whatever you want, I'll do whatever I want.
With the coming changes, leveling via BG and PvP in general is a welcome, especially in PvP servers. There are times when I want to do PvP only, whether open PvP or BGs, but I don't want it to prevent me from leveling up. Or say, I'll do WSG all I want, get all related achievements, w/o putting my leveling up to a halt.
Then I'll go back to leveling until the next BG opens up for me, and get as many achievements as I can of that new BG, before going to back to regular grinding.
I still take screenshots a lot, but not as much as compared to the past years. I'll take a lot if it's a new game or a new content, kind of my "souvenir" of my progress (and for blogging as well).
With that said, I don't revisit regularly. Usually these screenshots goes directly to a 700mb CD-R after I went through each screenshot and removed duplicates and not needed ones (like those for use in bug reporting only).
You never know when you'll need these screenshots ;) Especially for WoW post-Cataclysm... "old" Azeroth memories anyone? (Not to mention, screenshots of the early MMOs like UO :p )
Yep. Same here :p Warcraft lore is getting harder to track every time they release a new Warcraft product. T_T Still wishing I'll get to read the manga and books sofar released... if I can find those here in the Philippines.
@Xehirut: As far as the trailer told us, the "Cataclysm" was caused by Deathwing not the Maelstrom.
Watch the trailer :p You'll also see there that there is some supposedly "Maelstrom" that's locked in a land, which is a possibility. (But then that's weird that it's a maelstrom locked in a land :p )
Lol, it's legit. How can anyone who wants to scam people post a website under "worldofwarcraft.com" ?? And we are talking about "Blizzard" here. If someone who wants to steal our username and password, as well as CD-Key was able to hack into Blizzard's website, server, AND DOMAIN registry (cPanel for some, WHM for some), then either that guy is very well damn good or Blizzard's security is not as strong as we think it is.
