The Daily Grind: uGame on your iPhone?

Nov 12th 2009 12:30PM (Massively)
Have you guys missed outer empires? I can see how you might, it's been out for browsers since august. A very simple game, but a full fledged MMO much like Eve online. Requires an internet connection.

The Daily Grind: What MMO would you like to see be brought back to life?

Earth and Beyond has been back, resurrected by the fanbase and some clever home-brewed developers. I've played it in its current form, and while imperfect, it is definitely worth your time and exceeded my expectations.

Oh yeah and it is free. Google Earth and Beyond Emulator, or EnB Emu. The website is a bit confusing, but no joke, this game is legitimately online with hundreds of players. They just announced adding additional servers, it has quite a bit of support.

My biggest problem is my mobileMe/.mac account. I do a lot of business and have to give this email account out regularly. As you can imagine, I get an incredible amount of SPAM, and if FLOODS my iPhone's email notifier relentlessly.

I really need help. I can set up a client side solution on my Macbook, but that's not really a problem. MobileMe's server side spam blocking is practically non-existent!

I saw someone mention sending it through gmail, good idea?

Aion: Say goodbye to GameGuard (for now...)

Sep 18th 2009 12:22PM (Massively)
This really surprised me. Gamegaurd was giving me a hell of a time on my other computer, crashing my system completely. When the game crashed, gamegaurd would take out most of the other programs running in Aion's absence. It was even blocking my Logitech G-13 from functioning properly.

I avoided most of these problems by running Aion on my 64 bit Win 7 machine. Luckily I could afford to do this, but I could see how this would have put off someone on a mediocre machine that is just giving Aion a shot after work.

Good call, someone in NCSoft West deserves a promotion.
