Something about Asian Anime MMOs is a complete and total turn off for me, which is weird because I used to like Anime.
Hmm, maybe I've just been burned too many times.

Blizzard's Metzen: Pandaren are as 'serious as a heart attack'

@mmogaddict

People were fine with the idea of Pandaren when they were in a "new" relationship with WoW. Everything else was so amazing, Pandaren were fine. Kinda a weird interest, but meh... whatever the rest is good.
NOW, people are leaving Wow. They're looking back over their shoulders at a relationship that burned them. That Wow begging you not to leave, with her arms outstretched in the doorway... she also has a panda fetish. It didn't bug you before, but now its all she wants to think about. That's just too much, and you were already leaving anyway.

Same deal with me. The gimpy 5 levels, the massive focus on end game? Not for me. IF (thats a pretty big if) I played MoP, it would probably end up like Cata did. Get to the end, realize its the same ol grind-fest, and quit till next expansion (if I didn't give up at that point completely).

I'm rather sad that AGAIN its just a 5 level increase on the cap. I find leveling rewarding. I want to actually progress through a world, and gain something from my time in it. I desire ways to improve my character outside of dungeon gear grinding. This caters to the lazy people who don't want RPG in their MMORPG.
I just don't get how doing the same dungeon over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over can be more fun than actual content. *sigh*

"More open world conlfict both PvE - PvP. Less instanced more outdoors."

Blizzard can say I'm wearing Nostalgia Glasses, all they like. I disagree. I remember a time when the world felt alive, and you moved through it as if it was a world. You would go place to place like you would in real life, if you were on a holiday. Traveling roads and exploring cities, poking around strange hillsides, or discovering dropped quests on the coastlines, looking for and experiencing adventure every step along the way. There is way too much focus on "end game" raiding and dungeon grinding. I am sad that WoW is reduced to a dungeon rinse/repeat. I miss the days of grande scale adventure.

I always told my guild (back in the Burning Crusade days) that WoW had a lot of life left and there would be many more x-pacs. I told them that they should only really start worrying when Pandaren become a playable race... because they're Blizzards "ace up the sleeve". The final card to pull when things really look bad, people are jumping ship and they want to pull subs back in.
I would have thought that Emerald dream xpac would have been wedged in there long before Pandaren showed up... but man, here they are. Damn. I'm not sure how to feel about this.

@Cepaqua

Yes, it did. In Vanilla Wow; Tarren Mills/Southshore almost always had a back and forth battle played purely for fun because there were no rewards involved. Crossroads almost always needed help, but my fav was the Hammerfall vs Refuge pointe. The Alliance would show up at the gates to Hammerfall and Horde would push them back to Refuge pointe where the guards would then flood out of that little buttoncrack and turn the tide, causing horde to flee back to Hammerfall with Alliance on their tail to start the whole process over again. It was some really awesome back and forth battles that had so much more heart and faction pride involved because back in those days we weren't doing it for handouts. We did it because it was fun to do. Then of course the servers would start grinding and everything would slow down. Corpses would be sliding around because they didn't know they were dead yet. It was good times.

*Chuggin along on some water skis. Man this is a lovely day*
Do be do be do * skimming the water. Swerving to the left, the right. Yeah, life is good. Give the signal to the boat driver. "Go faster, my good man. We gotta hit warp 9 if we're going to ... * you gasp*
...JUMP THIS FREAKIN SHARK."
*Great white shark that could dwarf a zephlin balloon bursts out of the water, eclipsing the sun. You do the jump... but you splat right into the side of the thing. Its that big.*

As someone who detests and refuses to use Facebook, I will say this:
No fair. :/

Dear Funcom,
Please, stop excluding people who don't like Facebook, twitter, etc etc, and kinda detest the way they're trying to take over the internet. :x

Love,
Someone who remembers the internet before social networking came along to make things stupid.
