I guess ToR took all the flaming for that but now the standard has been set everything that follows is okay.
There’s no way to please everybody when it comes to this kind of thing. Some people want a Norn statue, some want no statue but all the other stuff and some people want everything for the same price as the standard edition.
AN can’t win but at least they’ve put out three good options for us to drool over.
I remember GW1 having modest requirements and looking awesome at the time (way more pleasing to the eye than what Blizz was offering at the same time). But the game was mostly instanced so controlling how much strain your machine was under was easier to achieve. Seems like there’s a bunch of smart people at AN though, so I’m sure GW2 will provide great performance like its predecessor.
While it’s great to see low min requirements we have to remember that playing the gorgeous game we’ve seen in the video’s would probably not be possible on a min spec computer. So yes our old machines could run this fine but AN are really proud of their art direction and a min spec experience is probably not that way they’re intending it’s played.
Yeah its a trend I'm not really stoked about. I hope it doesn't last although with the way the internet works, it takes only a few minutes for it to pop up somewhere where its freely available.
And if it doesn't, its not big deal. Its not as though they're obligated to show me the video.
@Tizmah It wasn't really about revealing new content though. AN were just saying thanks for the support but please don't get your hopes up b/c there's no way we're opening up 1mil seats for beta.
The video at the end was just a little bit of fluff.
After the press beta there isn't much we haven't seen in the game (content spoilers aside). It would be far more dull if we'd seen 30 seconds of some dev clicking through Trading Post tabs.
@Space Cobra Thanks for responding - I believe you would be my first stalker...congratulations I guess.
Actually, my kid(s) don't go to school, they're too young..that should have been clear on my account tho right. You're more than welcome to come track me down. I'd like to meet you if you're willing to spend all that money to travel halfway round the world to shake my hand.
So far you seem to know as much about me as I would you if we were sitting in the same cafe and I overheard your table conversation.
The thing is, what you found on me or anyone else you so casually look up (why you'd want to do that I have no idea) is irrelevant. There's nothing that you'd want to do with that stuff without ultimately making your life more stressful and potentially landing yourself in a lot of trouble.
I live in a place where it’s not a common practice at all for employers to drill into the personal lives of their perspective employees, fortunately that’s not a fear I need to worry about and besides, I don’t think my kids talking about the snow would rule me out of the jobs I’d be interested in; I have a hunch you didn’t find anything out about me via FB.
Again, thanks for your comments – come hit me up on twitter @joolaprime if you wanna discuss further. I’d give you my FB but it’s been retired for a while now.
@VikingGamer They require you to like a FB post in order the watch a video. Can't see anything in their email that would make me think I have to have a FB account to play their game.
@Lenn Bawhaha, you sound boring as hell, wouldn't want to know anything about you. Trippin Ninja on the other hand would probably have a few drunken photo's up we could all have a chuckle over.
Trippin Ninja > FB > some person going by the name of.. .. hmm..cant remember.

Blizzard tells Diablo III fans to lower their expectations
Feb 22nd 2012 7:39PM (Massively)...wow
Perhaps the hype wouldn't be so high if Blizzard were a little more transparent about how the game actually plays.
It seems Blizzards bloat is starting to slow it down.
