The Anvil of Crom: Time for F2P?

Jan 2nd 2011 7:57PM (Massively)
Just for everyone to freak out a bit. Fire up Age of Conan and type: /loadclip ItemShop.swf

They already have the framework under development for the Korean launch of the game, it wouldn't be a stretch to see it make it's way to North America and European versions of the game. Though, I doubt it will happen any time soon.

The Daily Grind: How many hotbars do you have?

@real65rcncom how do you figure? MMO means Massively Multiplayer Online -> it has very little to do with anything other than lots of people playing together.

I suppose I just don't follow~

None, I prefer to memorize cooldowns and reactive abilities due to how slow traditional mmorpg combat is.

The Daily Grind: Are action MMOs the future of the genre?

It really comes down to players developing different play styles and preferences. It's possible with the broad range of MMORPGs on the market for there to be different ways to play. I myself have always been more interested in driving than building my car, and I think that type of player will always be more interested in an Action MMO over a typical MMO where character development takes precedent over combat.

Age of Conan~ thought the combat was a gimmick until I tried it.

Jack Emmert says subscription MMOs have to prepare to beat WoW

Nov 2nd 2010 8:37PM (Massively)
Quite funny, I enjoy the part about how games need to defeat World of Warcraft in order to be successful with a subscription based business model. While we're pretending to be preschool economic whiz-kids lets talk about how popular opinion is always fact. Thank you sir, you have reminded me why I should avoid listening to lead designers.

Week in Review: Twelve million gamers can't be wrong

Oct 10th 2010 9:47PM (Massively)
The popular opinion can very easily be wrong, I never said that it was wrong in this case but it has no bearing on the fact that just because a lot of people believe something, doesn't make it true. Sheer numbers has nothing to do with something being right or wrong, I simply took the time to point that out. Have fun being upset on the internets. :)

PS.

yes, yes they can.

The Daily Grind: Do you wait for reviews?

Sep 25th 2010 12:17PM (Massively)
I find it interesting that you two are so concerned with your money. I don't really feel like the cost of an MMORPG is so extreme that buying one or two a year is going to bankrupt me. If the game interests me, I will buy it.. it's one of the nice things about having disposable income.
