you must have boring tastes in web design. Look at Tibia or RuneScape's sites. They are simple games, but have very captivating sites with plenty of info and tools. Have a captivating site like those that that actually make it pleasing on the eyes to go to. makes you more excited about the game you're going to play. Imagine if aion took away the background image, and made its logo look like skype's web 2.0 logo. It would have an image crysis there.


I'm just saying this 'clean' interface standard is just making every site look the same and boring.. at least use something other then white, white, white. at least have some color and personality on your sites and not just sale old same old. This clean standard is taking sites personalities away

sci-fi channel had good programming before and an awesome purple hued site that looked futuristic and bad ass. Now they have syfy-and it looks like a tampon logo and site theme. They lost thier awesome edge and now are 2.0 'accessible' to the mainstream and all they have is b rated movies and they are not going to be focused on sci-fi anymore soley. I guess alot of sites designers need tampons.

Awesome features yes, but it seriously lacks in the looks department. Does not please the eyes as much as most game sites. game might be epic awesome but it seems a little out of place. Kinda like how Nintendo's site looks now. very whitewashed and bland as hell. There are real estate sites that look edgier and more epic then nintendo's right now and that just makes me LOL. Too many sites are doing this and it is boring as hell.

And before you go complain about 'accessibility'....

if white is the only color 'accessible' to everyone that I fear humanity has gotten so bland to the point no wonder why WoW is the #1 MMO, Miley Cyrus sells more albums then awesome dj's like ATB and epic rock groups like Within Temptation, and the hottest movie this summer was a remake of an older movie. I shed a tear for those......

Wow take away any game art on the background and the pics and it looks and feels like yahoo.com or something LOLz. Too boring looking for such an epic game! At least WoWs site fits the game. This AION site looks too corporate now. WoW!

Oh really and the interface and gameplay seemed to be too much like WoW. Won't last long like all the other WoW clones. bah. Too many of them all using the same itnerface, quest system, item systems, pretty much everything. Thier all just reskinning WoW it seems. How bland.

How old is the guy and did he mortgage his house and go into massive debt to get unreal engine? Some people think a company who'd been in business for 10 years and has a staff of 30 is an 'indie' and has had games out for several years using crappy engines first and "working thier way to unreal"... but if you want to first start out with unreal engine you gotta get rich quick or pirate the thing but you seriously don't wanna do that! No fresh-outta-college kid is going to be able to afford to get unreal engine for his/her first game. No way.

Look, what we need is more indies on the scene and more unique titles and IPs. Not more Crysis or WoW clone games churned out by the Cryteks and Blizzards. Just like how bland the motion picture scene and the pop music scene is. More boring clones. Unis groom them for jobs at EA or Blizzard. Not to start thier own studios. Witch is the wrong course to take since it is very rare for you to even get a job at such companies becuase they have way too many applicants for the little amount of positions they do have.

I'm just saying that people who get out of college that are used to nothing but 3dsmax and unreal engine will be dissapointed when they start thier studio with thier own cash and can't get these tools and have to start all over again. NOT EVERYONE GETTING INTO THE GAMING INDUSTRY. LOLz.

All they would have to do dblade is make the gameplay less grinding and more adventuring and actual quests, not errands like WoW and so many others. RS actually has the best quests I've seen. They are deep and challenging and vary from so many different things! And it don't totally walk your hand throught it like WoW does.

This is heavily flawed becuase if you teach people high end engines at college and they try to make thier own games after the graduate, their classes will be for nothing becuase the average joe cannot possibly afford CRYengine or Unreal Engine or 3dsmax or any of those tools.

They will have to seek out other cheaper alternatives and have to learn all over again anyways. So it's pointless to go to game design schools becuase I seriously doubt if they teach courses using open source engines and 3d editors.

Even though I would rather have an Elder Scrolls MMO. I still side with BethSoft becuase Interplay should have ether made the MMO or gave it up.
