Tell us your most epic MMO stunt and win a copy of the Guinness World Records 2012 Gamer's Edition!

Jan 20th 2012 11:42AM (Massively)
I think my ballsy-est stunt might have been on WoW.

The night before Tuesday (raids unlock) I posted a thread on the Realm forums that tomorrow night they wouldn't be raiding Sunwell (this was during TBC when the cream-of-the-crop raiding guilds were running it). Elitism was at an all-time high on my server, and since it was a PVP server and we were a PVP guild, I organized an event where we would get as many guildies online as possible and camp the entrence to Sunwell. Any Horde raider (they were the only faction progressed this far) who got close was getting burst down.

Their high-tier gear wasn't much match for our focus fire. Much drama ensued and although it's not as much of a stunt, everyone remembered it and our guild for halting progression for that week.

[Updated] On the eleventh day of giveaways, Funcom gave to me...

Dec 23rd 2011 9:38PM (Massively)
I love Funcom because even though they release games in well established genres, they do not settle to make them in the same mold as other publishers.. Having played AoC I can say that there is nothing quite like it I've ever played in the MMO space. As for Funcom's BLC, it is unlike any other Moba on the market. To me BLC will always be more intense than the various Dota-likes(which are great too), and I've never regretted supporting Funcom. The Secret World looks great too and I will always be playing Funcom's titles.

Their cash shop is reasonably priced too and overall they really treat their players well!

I knew when I saw a retail copy was coming out I'd have to get it! APB and it's pretty much the best multiplayer game, free or not, I've played in years. Thanks Massively and GamersFirst!

I've went with Criminal! San Paro needs better villains and I love making those tryhard goodies feel worthless against a skilled crim.

[Updated] Celebrate the launch of Veil of Alaris by winning a signed copy of the EverQuest art book

I must have started Everquest back in 2000 at the age 14.. Me and my mom had just moved so I didn't really have any irl friends yet, but I was able to convince my mom to let me have a subscription to this game (which was no easy feat). I was young but I knew that most of the other players were adults, so I was rather intimidated until it was in some zones, I think in the Kunark expantion that I started getting party invites by a group who was grinding in the same region as me.

We talked in game and eventually started using voice chat services on Yahoo and such to communicate. I didn't talk much because they were much older, but they were really funny guys and gals who were alittle nerdy but always cracked me up.

I had NO idea that these random people I met in game would become some of my best friends both online and irl, and that even after we quit Everquest that we'd continue to try out other games and still talk. We went through our WoW phase and now, sadly, this group is sort of split up, but I keep in touch with some of them and seriously I'd LOVE to meet again with the others who seem to have just faded away. (So if you remember playing in a guild called "Miscellaneous Discussion" please say somethin)

I guess I'm saying that at a time when I didn't have any social role models as a teen, Everquest introduced me to some very friendly people who really shaped who I am today. I'm not sure that MMOs today can really do that anymore.

Hands-on with Blizzard DOTA: Tweaking the genre it created

Oct 21st 2011 7:36PM (Massively)
Blizzard didn't create DOTA... That would be the modding community, right?

And as far as I know Blizzard hasn't been too kind to those guys considering Diablo 3 and the like.

Sad news indeed..

I wish Callaham and the others the best. I loved this site and the attention it gave to often overlooked PC gaming news.

Please take care guys!

I really want to read all the Guild Wars novels before GW2 comes out so I can be Mr. Resident Lorebuff! Thats not the only reason but yeah I'm dying to read Edge of Destiny!

And of course a Platinum Edition would let me play with some friends who I know are looking forward to GW2 as much as me!

Star Ruler to be pulled from Impulse because of GameStop sale

Apr 7th 2011 8:59AM (Big Download)
I thought Gamestop was making efforts to fix the devastatingly cruel "neglect" they had on PC games? I mean they bought Kongregate and now Impulse. It's not their fault that the guys in the mall care more about 360 than PC games.

Be a part of Black Prophecy's closed beta test with our key giveaway!

Mar 25th 2011 4:33PM (Massively)
I'm abit dizzy after navigating Gamigo's stuff but here is what fixed me:

Going to AccountSystems at the top. Logging in with your Gamigo account at top right. Click "My Profile" and I notice there is a seperate "change" button beside info about Black Prophecy. Clicking it will give you a change password field. Change it and then the Pilot Licensing Terminal should work.

Um, hope that info helps someone out there.
