My biggest gripe with WoW is that it's less about the journey and more about getting to max level ASAP!!!!!!!!
They've seriously reduced the net-amount of XP you need to attain max level. I guess it wouldn't be such a bad thing if they didn't add such awesome content for leveling.
It just seems like such a less-impressive-world when you fly through the content in no time, the way one can do now (and not even with heirlooms)
I recently got an iPad, and picked this game up for it. I was pretty skeptical about how gaming could be on the iPad especially since I already own a DS for most of my hand-held gaming.
This game though, blew me away. I never realized that 8-bit (or is it 16?) could be so beautiful and atmospheric.
If this is the direction gaming is going in with small indie developers pushing out $5-15apps, bring, it, on. I kind of loath myself for liking the iPad so much, but man is it fun with the touch screen.
@DrRadon (I think it was $4.99 if recall correctly).
Well Blizzard basically amalgamates and polishes up all the best aspects of games to make their new games. This leads to pretty incredible games for the most part. Unfortunately for Blizzard there haven't been really any games that have challenged their domination of the MMO market.
So, it's been left up to them to innovate the genre, which they've done a so-so job at (obviously personal opinion). I'd imagine they'd love to have another successful MMO come out so that they can incorporate that games new/successful ideas into Titan...and keep up their business model.
Your article just seemed to be a rant about people not supporting games they thought were not worth supporting, and supporting a game they did deem worth supporting - I get the double standard thing if people were to like both games equally until something like this was introduced, but so far as I could tell both your examples were pretty mediocre, at best, games (obviously personal opinion derived from accounts from friends and fellow gamers).
I agree, completely, with the arguments made about future content (i'm talking substantial content not some cosmetic items) being kept out of the game, until you purchase it from the store - I shudder at the thought, but if something like that happens I'll just cancel my sub. Simple as that. I don't like how this might, and probably will, encourage blizzard to keep items like this out of the game (other than if you visit their store), but what more can a customer do other than vote with their wallet?
Also, this has been happening for years in WoW (recruit a friend, TCG), and only now is it a big deal? Why are people all of a sudden up on arms?
I thought Vivendi, the company that originally owned Blizzard -- before the merger -- was the 51% stake holder in the new ActivisionBlizzard company.
Since SCII and Diablo III had the bulk of their development done as a Acti/Blizz product I'll reserve judgment for after those games - Though I thoroughly enjoyed WoTLK.
Are you playing L.A. Noire in black and white?

Apr 12th 2011 3:00PM (Massively)If DA had become an MMO, then sure ME could make sense as one as they'd then be able to offer both a Fantasy & Sci-Fi MMO...but 2 Sci-Fi MMOs?
I'd be skeptical that that would be a good idea.

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP comes to iPad on Thursday
Mar 31st 2011 11:35AM (Joystiq)It's a game that will throw you back to gaming on the nintendo or Dos-bootup adventure games.
If you have the hardware for it it's completely worth the $5. The soundtrack even rocks.
