I think mine would have to come from EQ. I remember the first time I ever saw on my screen "The Sleeper has been awakened!" and it was followed by massive logouts so he wouldn't quad DT anyone in the zone. I also love the boat ride across the Ocean of Tears and seeing that Ancient Cyclops for the first time.
Last I heard Patrick Stewart was doing a play in London that pretty time consuming. Shatner probably wants a lot more money than Cryptic is willing to pay. He does bring a lot of starpower granted, but when you can two or sometimes three stars compared to one then the decision is kind of made for you.
I think the death penalty will be sufficient. They said a while ago that your ship will operate at reduced efficiency the less crewman you have and everytime you die you lose crewman so you get weaker and weaker. It is my understanding that you have to go to a station or friendly planet to "recruit" more crewman to fill out your ranks so I see it as a pretty unique penalty.
Definately EQ, about 30 hours or so. Was killing spectres as a human mage and had set my spawn point at the beginning of the zone. So I could just gate back and already be there when I logged off. I fell asleep and the spectres killed me, I then respawned at my gate point and the spectres aggroed and proceeded to kill me repeatedly until I woke up three hours later, I lost six levels...not a good day.
Its almost like they are encouraging you to explore the old content, especially with the instance server having been full over the last few months. I know they are working on that fix and have fixed a lot of servers, but this seemed to be a pretty big problem and some people just overlooked it and decided to bash other games. I hate that WoW is the game to be judged by and it has such massive problems that are forgiven by the masses.
