If I had to pick a Linden to leave, it'd be Robin, not Cory.

But what this means for SL... Well, I can't imagine it'll be much different. Cory had been in administration for some time now, his code is the base for SL, but it was slowly being replaced (at his insistence) with pieces that were more thought out and complete.

His direction was invaluable - a year ot two ago - but now? The blow to morale is the biggest obvious part to this.

I'm sure when the dev pool finds out, we will to.

Even if they don't aspire to making customizable forms - which does speed up the graphics of an MMO - there's no excuse for it.

The females in the game are probably the best characters, but the males are far more charicatures. It's terrible. The human males can barely move with so many muscles, and all the males are taller than the female characters.

Of course, someone might have noticed this in 2004.

I really hate that price list... The one for WoW is so wrong. Netherweave should never drop below a certain price - because NPCs will buy it from you - and some of the Primals stay up because of market caging, which is basically someone ripping off other people.

I don't know about Eve as in depth, though.

There's a real reason why those on roleplaying realms tread lightly in Goldshire - because anyone and everyone can get there, and do whatever they want in private messages.

There's literally no way for Blizzard to police this content without stepping on other people's toes.

Money laundering is a huge issue, and LL has had to close some hundred thousand accounts based on it.

So for every report you've heard of someone getting their account frozen, there's some guy trying to get away with this stuff.

While Second Life is targeted for the ease of transfer - Warcraft is targeted because many of the companies doing it are grey market at best.

So far, it's silly - all currency transactions in game are logged with more scrutiny than an offshore bank account. So getting away with it is not really an option. But it does delay the inevitable, and for us, it causes alot of headaches.

PayPal suffers the same attacks.

It's like those Landbots we see in SL - one doesn't take down the grid - but and launch a hundred, or thousand and the servers come grashing down. It's an abuse of trust.

Does anyone track the trends in median, average, and minimum online per 24?

A graph of that might be interesting, as the peaks seem to just keep coming - but that shows popularity in a group of timezones, whereas median and minimum show the overall time spent.

Normally when you sell things immediately, you don't get a good price for them.

This isn't anything unusual in investments, especially after the institution has suffered a breech.

It would be possible to do this intentionally, but really, it'd take a network of computers which weren't doing much else.
