You're comparing apples and oranges. Your 300hp turbo 4 costs many thousands of dollars more then this thing will. Put this up against any other car IN ITS CLASS and yes it is potentially supremely sporty for that segment. Its not lowering anyone's expectations...its just competing in a different class then you're trying to put it in.
As for "ugly lump"...that's purely subjective. I happen to love the styling of the Fiesta and the forthcoming Focus.
You're right...its not faster and more versatile then your subaru. Its probably about as fast and less versatile as my rabbit. But its not for the same market in the least.
I launched into it with no idea what it really was aside from "built on Source engine" and expected it to get uninstalled pretty quickly.
I have been happily click-clicking away for a week now and the first day I think I blasted through about 9 hours without even realizing it. It is really really fun and different. Ive got two characters around 20 and can't wait to get home and start up my Evie.
Its repetitive. Its limited on content. I do not care. Its fun and the little achievements, titles, and level objectives keep me coming back for an hour or two every night.
It reminds me of Ragnarok Online in some ways, and Im sure its similar to other games out there as well, but I have had no previous experience with Nexon's games.
Sure I could do that and then run right up against the fatigue system that forces you to change to another role to keep playing. Not to mention that pretty much half of the available professions are devoted to crafting, a part of MMOs that tend to ignore completely. I'm there to kick monster and player ass...not pick flowers. No thanks. I know what I like. Its picking one class and playing it until I master it.
As for my posting history...I can't think of one game that I've passed over completely for a feature I don't like the sound of. I tend to give props to games that I don't play for creative features and give fair reviews to games I have played.
I will NEVER play a MMO where I can freely swap between classes. I like choosing my playstyle and sticking with it from start to finish. Swapping weapons to become a different class is ridiculous.
I'll probably give it a shot, but I fully expect I will drop it like a bad habit when I run into those traditional ArenaNet game killers for me. Crappy weightless animations and combat that just feels wrong.
It doesn't sound like a very good deal. Boston is where the resources are to support such a production. And RISD isn't really that great a hiring pool. There are equally or more talented people coming out of Boston area schools and they don't just have degrees and portfolios, many of them are also walking out with 1-2 years of actual experience on their resumes and with a network of connections in the industry. This is especially true of NEU and Emerson graduates. So if they're looking for workers I think they're better suited to staying right where they are.
I'd be surprised if Massachusetts couldn't offer a better deal.
I hate player housing. Its one of those things that if its in the game I will ignore it. It ruins the sense of community and reinforces the creation of cliques and exclusionary attitudes. Id much rather have the Warhammer system where you wear your trophies on your character coupled with the banking system that has become pretty standard in every game. It does nothing for immersion. Im a bad-ass adventurer not an interior decorator.
Mythic falls under the umbrella of Bioware's management now, with people from both companies work on each other's products as needed as I understand it.
