Yeah looks like they were actually reading the forums have everything people were asking for (except balanced pvp and battlegrounds) but was very impressed to see that they have changed the chanter mechanics around looks line now chanters might be more of a aoe class.
Wow lot of bethesda \ fallout 3 hate in the gamepolitics.com link. Amm i the only one who likes the original fallout's as well as fallout 3? While I would love to see a fallout MMO from Interplay they haven't always treated the fallout franchise with respect, remember fallout brotherhood of steel anyone? Anyhow should be a interesting one to watch.
Totally agree with this. I have a level 28 Chanter as well as a 22 Cleric, (yeah always play the priest type class) and am really enjoying the game. The abyss is a lot of fun and you really learn about the pros and cons of flying in this zone. No linger is flying / gliding a means of fast travel, it now becomes more of a strategic tool esp if you are a melee class. I really wasn't a big fan of the rifts, for me they were more of a gank patrol then anything else but that might have had more to do with the hours i was playing then a fault with the game. Still wish they had battle grounds for some fast pvp action and anther means of levelling rather then mob grinding but we cant have everything.
My experience with the big bad box... on the Azmo side it drops in the middle of the level 12-16 section of Idun's lake. After seeing it spawn my immediate reaction is to go and smash into it a few times like any sensible mmoer will. After calling a few friends to came and assist we begin the very, very , very long task of auto attacking on it and watch as it jumps up and down taunting you with in gold filled goodness. After about 1.5 hours of auto attack afk the box finally cracks open revealing an assortment of level 16 green weapons, (sword, great sword, dagger and book) and 300 K... worth it , well not really but hey at least now i can say i beat up a big bad box!
Wow, i really was expecting Azmo to have the lower population to the bright wyed white winged Elyos, but if the current trend is anything to go by looks like everyone wants to take a wild on the dark side.
@ Ben... While the servers might not be in Australia or NZ (well in fact were all kinda glad they are not in NZ :P ) one of the main reasons we wanted Australia servers is due to PVP system used, mainly the keep raids that are time specific. My understanding is that keeps will become attackable at set times, i remember reading one post saying its from 8pm -> 11pm so obviously this time in AEST in around 10am -> to 1pm meaning that, for a lot of us we will not be able to participate. And i know that for the smart few who are reading the time i am posting this and saying... 'but hey eld your posting at 10 am AEST' well while i might get away with discrete massively reading during a physics lecture, i really really think they might notice me doing some keep raiding. And besides, now we are free to say colour and not have to hide our Australian pride behind color.
ack daily quests. if their is one aspect of mmo's that i cant stand its daily quests. Sure you don't have to do them but when it becomes the only viable path to levelling you character, either increasing level or reputation it becomes more like a daily core then gaming.
I seams they have a really ... new, approach to launching from their site you can read this 'For the first release we have decided to focus only on a few starting races and classes so that we can refine each to be unique and expansive far beyond what other MMOGs have to offer' Seeing that they only have notes regarding the human race and the main classes "healer, soldier, ranger and magus' (read as priest, warrior, ranger and mage class types) it seams likely that these will be the starting race / class combos. They also seam to bee using the Eric Cartman marketing strategy http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/152804 with the announcement of a 'Controlled Release' when Alganon Launches, only a certain number of new subscription keys will be created each month.
