It's awesome that I keep getting e-mails for a game that proudly proclaims 'free and open power selection..no classes" and then in the same e-mail they tell me about the new AT/Class they have.
So, another fairly generic fantasy setting? Ryan Dancey involved with another project that he can torpedo in his own, unique, and special way? I think the people at Paizo are WAY overestimating their market reach. Most gamers (non tabletop ones) will have never heard of Pathfinder, nor will they give two hoots in hell about it.
Really? What does the Pathfinder setting truly offer that's so remarkable that it'll be set apart from the likes of WoW, Aion, LotRO, DDO, Conan? I'll tell you what... nothing.
The setting is tripe. Tripe fantasy geared at the lowest common deminator. There's nothing 'wow' or 'oh cool'. Generic Fantasy for Generic Minds.
@Celtar Same here. Hearing that it was a browser based game was pretty much a killer for me. There just hasn't been enough sophistication there to hold my interest. Shadowrun is deserving of a much more immersive envoronment. It's sad to see that this is what it's treatment is going to be.
Is the fog in your area possibly the result of supernatural forces seeking to cloak dark and squamous creatures?
I think the supernatural influence gives license for the foggy tendrils. Besides, it makes it looks like the fog is an entity in and of itself.
Also, animation smoothing is one of the last things that usually gets added in most games, so I'm hopeful they'll be better. FE's animations in an equivalent stage in the game were like a slideshow.
At 68 dollars and with 53 people buying one of them, that means that they just need 240 people to quit their account for 1 month for an appropriate financial message to be sent. If those same folks leave for even just three months, then it's clear to see that the lost revenue from subscriptions outweighs the income from that monocle.
Everyone here that's calling for people to cancel their subs is correct. Devs are like parents of newborns, they quickly learn to turn out the crying drone of players. Since it seems that the pocketbook is the only thing they care about, it's there that people need to hit them.
Even if people only leave for three months. Not even leave forever, but if enough people just walked away for a few months, it would send a huge message.
Why do I smell some of Ryan Dancy's special breed of ineptitude behind some of these decisions. The man made himself a persona non grata in the tabletop RPG industry and this just smacks of a brilliant idea out of his noggin now that he's working at CCP.
@The Ogre With just a little bit of looking I'm sure you can find a good therapist to help with that self esteem issue. If in game NPC's being powerful to you is bothersome, I'd suggest you have coping issues.
I have to say that this game is SO pleasantly surprising. I normally hate PVP but the attitude in this is so different than other PVP experiences i have, it makes me want to hit the "Battle" button over and over and over.
