Perpetuum aiming for truly persistent world

Jul 5th 2010 7:08PM (Massively)
Yea I got invited to beta as well. I think if you just sign up for beta they'll give you a key tbh. But in all aspects its an eve clone on land. First I thought it might be a good idea but its not. It felt like eve. I mean you could walk around and such but at all times your in this robot thing like your ship in eve. The skills are exactly like eve's with a few changes. If mean if you seriously like this game, you should go play eve. You'd like it a lot more.

Free for All: A sit-down with WURM's Rolf

Seriously this game is one of the best ideas I've ever seen in an mmo. It really allows for so many possibilities for the sandbox-game player. But really the "flaw" (if you call it that) isn't the execution as Rolf and the supporting developers have done an amazing job with the resources they have but its just that. The resources.

Give the developers a big name publisher who'll pour money on them and you got one of the best games ever conceived imo.

But until then, I'll enjoy the still amazing creation Rolf has given us.

Free for All: My top five F2P games

Woooo go Wurm! Like that seriously made my day that someone on massively honored them for something of that sort. It is such an under rated game in so many regards, besides graphics b/c they really do suck. I just wish the game got a little more publicity so this game could actually get a decent amount of players and then more decent funding.

The Daily Grind: What crazy idea should someone try?

Umm, you guys do realize a lot of the stuff your suggesting has already been done in a mmo. Granted, its not up to WoW, GW2 or LotRO etc. production values. It is out there.

Someone mentioned a game where you can level up entirely on crafting: try EVE there is no fighting involved if you don't wish to fight. Sure the fighting may be fueling your crafting career but its not a necessity for you yourself to fight. Not to mention the production values for this game are definitely at the same par as the games I previously mentioned

Player built cities: Try Wurm online. Sure the graphics are very sub-par. Its not like its 2-d but it will be a step down definitely from what your used to. However, don't let that sway you. The housing system in this game is amazing and almost every single thing in this game is player made. I'm talking the buildings, merchants even the land itself has been terraformed and transformed from wild to civilization. Plus it has a free server to try on, no point in not checking it out imo.

Those are just some of the one's I noticed you guys mentioned and there are many more examples I could have given but yea. I don't mean to advertise my favorite games on here it was just kinda bothering me that many of you didn't think games like this existed and they do. :D

You guys should try out Wurm Online. It has a f2p server and its really not any worse than the premium server. I know many many people who just stay on the f2p server actually so I would consider it a f2p game.

Oh and there's a lot of opportunity for RP if your into that.

Actually, its a pretty good game. Takes some getting used to but I guess you could describe it as EVE but very vaguely so. Like it takes a lot of the professions in EVE and makes it actual professions. You get your own ship but there is also a ground element as well that incorporates an actual avatar. Its pretty cool.. Check it out.

Not to advertise someone else's site on here, but try mmorpg.com. It has the list your looking for.

EVE soundtrack performed by 16 string symphony orchestra

Yea it soothing till you go into a mission, where it gets all weird and goes to guitar rifts and kinda acid metal without the vocals. I never understood that.
