Flameseeker Chronicles: What's your golden carrot?

Apr 3rd 2012 3:21PM (Massively)
I can't wait to see exactly what all of the "dungeon-sets" look like. I'm already pretty confident that I will be running adventure mode to get some of the sets that I am fond of, and then transmuting the skins. I also remember reading that crafting will unlock some of the most unique skins in the game, and so that would be an incentive for me to craft.

I also enjoy the Karma system, and the example you gave of how you can come back later to take advantage of earned Karma.

The Daily Grind: What would make you cancel a pre-order?

Shawn!

This is a really provocative Daily Grind, you troll! D:<

I think we have to remember that the leaked Guild Wars 2 cash shop images are from beta. And even if they go live, a close look and consideration will reveal that they don't break the game, create a pay-to-win scenario, or give players anything that they can't earn in game, which I think is the key point to this all. If you don't want to earn these minor things in game, you can give a little bit of money to Arenanet in exchange for the convenience. You won't be paying a subscription, so forking over several dollars a month on your own terms seems to be a fair deal for a company that has put a ton of money into developing this game over the last what..... 7 years or so?

The lock boxes can be looted and kept in storage until you find enough mystic keys in the world, and 50% xp increase for 1 hour isn't that much. Magic find is 10% for an hour, big woop. All of these items are ways for you to support GW2 if you want, on your own terms and nothing about them read that anyone will have any sort of tactical advantage in pve or pvp, not even the instant rez. So what.

I will consider buying the minipet pack, the dye plant pack, maybe the perfect salvage kit if I have an item that I really want to salvage safely. and if there is a cool vanity item that I see, I wouldn't have any problem paying 2 bucks for it, because I want to support this game. I wouldn't buy any of the XP boosts, or magic find stuff, because I don't care about that. See, that's my choice, and the cash shop works for me. I just wanna see the final prices on all this, because some of them seem off.

I would blog about my experience as a newcomer to an established game, never having read Tolkien, and never having played the game.
