@Plastic I haven't gotten a chance to play the D3 beta so I can't compare but I played this for about 3 hours last night and I'm really impressed so far. The sound, environments, and animations are all top notch. The skill tree is amazing as well. Action RPG fans should definitely check it out this weekend.
I'm kind of excited for this game but I don't know how in the hell they can pull it off with the payment model they have in mind. The game was pushed until after D3 release and GW2 should be releasing close enough to TSW that it will be a factor as well. If by some miracle GW2 releases first- they're toast. I hope I'm wrong.
I was looking at my PC game shelf today thinking about that exact thing. I've been faithfully buying BioWare games since Baldur's Gate but I have enjoyed their games progressively less since BG2. Fan service has gone consistently downhill ever since that EA logo appeared on the box. Up until ME3 they were a company who would earn a no-brainer preorder from me; sad to say that's not the case anymore.
I find it kind of refreshing that Blizzard admits they play the competition. I've also been kind of impressed that they've recently been talking about some of their missteps. I might be one of the few on this site, but I'm interested in MoP and I haven't played WoW since 3 months into launch. I think they know that MoP is a make or break kind of expansion for them and I hope they bring it. In any case Blizzard will be just fine as D3 will sell a gazillion (forecast based upon my own research) copies.
Yikes, I wasn't even planning on picking up KoA until next year at the earliest when they come out with the inevitable "complete" edition. Oh well, I think GW2 and D3 pretty much have a lock on my time this year anyways.
