Jan 10th 2012 9:58PM (Massively)It's like saying SCEE are the same management as Sony, which it is not.
Making stuff up doesn't make it true, remember that next time you post on a gaming internet site, you know, where we can all look things up.
BioWare responds to The Old Republic performance issues
Jan 10th 2012 5:35PM (Massively)My 3 year old rig runs the game at 60fps (i7/ATi 5770/6GB RAM), but my brand new (1 month old) laptop (i7/Nvidia 525M/8GB RAM) gets 15-20fps.
I suspect that there's problems with some GPU, CPU's & chipset configurations. By all means my new laptop should be running as well, if not better, than my 3 year old machine. I even run the 3 year old machine with medium graphics, while the laptop everything is on low (no shadows too).
I love the game, but Bioware need to address the performance issues rather than just stating "working as intended, get a better machine".

Jan 2nd 2012 3:38PM (Massively)Add to this that their kids might install a game on their laptop, they expect it to just be a game, not some bandwidth eating crapware. I've seen a user end up with $1000+ mobile broadband bills due to crapware very similar to PMB, I bet they have no response to comments like this.
His continual excuses are "you can disable it, you can uninstall it", how about this: not having it enabled or installed to start with?

Dec 19th 2011 3:33PM (Massively)I'm actually enjoying my Sith Sorcerer more than anything else. Heals, massive DPS with lightning & a lightsaber. What more can you ask for?
The Daily Grind: Should MMOs offer respecs?
Dec 12th 2011 2:50PM (Massively)It'd be silly for Bioware to shoot themselves in the foot like that.
The Soapbox: It's a game, but not just that
Dec 6th 2011 6:52PM (Massively)Generally people who say "It's just a game" are people who refuse to accept that their actions (or inaction) removes the enjoyment for others. If we all took the view that "It's just a game" & refused to accept that others wish to enjoy the game too, then what's the point of an MMO? Why not just play single player games, seeing as you don't respect the mental & emotional investment others have in the game?
People who tend to use this phrase tend to do so during Raid/Dungeons where they've done something wrong & refuse to admit it. The best way to diffuse a situation is to be honest both with the other person and yourself. Admit you screwed up, admit you weren't paying attention, admit you really don't care about the game (so they can find someone else who does), whatever it may be. If you don't, it's just a childish troll from a small minded selfish person.
SWTOR lead designer explains item mod changes
Dec 6th 2011 3:38PM (Massively)Might be an idea to read the post rather than making up your mind from dribs & drabs on Massively. Essentially Massively would have had to copy/paste the whole post to give you the information you are looking for.
It's actually a good change (being able to mod/remove mods without the table, removal of green mod items, etc), so I'm fully behind this. It's also good to know that at the forefront of their minds is the clunkiness of the modding system. While it will be the same at launch, it should be improved over time.
Glad to know I can keep my black & yellow crystal till later levels (+7 end is a nice boost for all classes, plus it looks way cool)!

Dec 5th 2011 3:09PM (Joystiq)EA: Online Pass can expire for new-game purchases, but it shouldn't
Dec 3rd 2011 3:48PM (Joystiq)Not our fault you drank the "Online Pass" kool-aid, the rest of us will sit over here in the "our rights as consumers are more important than one company's profits" corner. Coming from Australia, this will end rapidly here once enough people complain to Fair Trading/Consumer Affairs. EA will be tied up in a court case they can't win (pretty hard to fight government agencies in court).
