Flameseeker Chronicles: What's your golden carrot?

Apr 4th 2012 12:11PM (Massively)
Uh...loot? I'm guessing level 35 items aren't going to be very helpful at level 80. Who the fudge runs dungeons for XP in ANY game?

Really?! I thought this was one of those crappy "MMOs" that no one actually played whose servers could shut down at any second. Wow...oh well, still not interested.

The Daily Grind: Do you expect a roleplaying server to be policed?

Mar 18th 2012 2:39PM (Massively)
@smartstep

In a perfect world, sure. But I've been a GM before and I can tell you that I had personally been told on several accounts to completely ignore all requests/reports made by players in regards to RP matters. As an RPer, it bothered me to no end being told NOT to assist RPers in any way, shape or form. Someone gets reported for the name Suckmyballs on an RP server? Too bad. The system allowed him to create that name, therefore, the name is acceptable on an RP server. Someone running around an RP wedding naked griefing people? Too bad. He's a paying customer doing what he enjoys. Why should we ban him for that? It will only make us lose a customer, and potentially even more customers once the player takes to the forums and tells all his friends and the rest of the community that he was banned for having fun in a game which he pays for.

Like it or not, MMOs are a business, now more than ever, and they care MUCH more about money than about keeping a small percentage of their playerbase happy. RPers are seen as a nuisance. A group of whiners and complainers that will just end up leaving your game anyway when they don't get their way, so who needs them? They want to keep the majority of the players happy; the ones who can get away with doing whatever the hell they want and will end up sticking around because of that.

The Daily Grind: Do social media tie-ins annoy you?

Ah yes, "social media". We have dismissed that claim.

This game is a blast. I've played the demo about 3 times now and can't wait for the final game. Full of lore and the world and characters are very charming. Something that seems to be lacking in most RPG/MMOs lately. It does seem a little buggy and unpolished in places, but most of all it's fun, and in the end, that's all that really matters when it comes to gaming.

Diablo III heading to a gaming console near you [Updated]

Does this mean they're going to delay the game for PC until 2013-2014 when the console version is ready? I already have lost pretty much all faith in Blizzard, this is just the icing on the cake. Meh. Guild Wars 2 can't come soon enough.
