The Secret World's lead designer explains abilities, skills, gear, and more

Sounds great. Can't wait to get my hands on that ability wheel.

Funcom stock price could 'double or triple' depending on success of The Secret World

@(Unverified) Age of Conan lacking content and performance enhancements? Have you been living under a rock the past two years? :p

@Poordevil

Well, they're revamping the current destiny quests. Make them more exciting and challenging (and scaling mobs and loot!).

But yes, I'd love to see a lvl 70 or 75 destiny quest.

@Poordevil I would have preferred to see Turan as a lvl 70-80 zone as well :)

@Sean D Global chat is hardly a representation of the AoC community in general. There's thousands of people on each server, yet only a small part of them actually uses global chat and the ones trolling it are even fewer.

The AoC community is not worse or better than that of any other popular MMO on the market. Enable a global chat in LOTRO or WoW or... and you'll see the same stuff happening as in Age of Conan. Turning off global chat is simply like a giant ignore button to ignore all the rotten apples on a server in one go ;).

What matters when you're playing an MMO is the people you actually play with. Your guildmates, your friends, allied guildmembers, ...

When I play with people outside of my "own" community, I've had both good and bad experiences. Like I have them in every other MMO. I'm not going to say that the AoC community in general is a loving, caring, friendly and helpful bunch. It isn't. But it isn't a hateful, mean, unfriendly and unhelpful bunch either. It's somewhere in between.

@Jef Reahard I just put Global Chat in a different tab that I only open when I need it :). Makes life so refreshing!

@ShivanSwordsman

Sorry but you're just being the troll Jeff described in his article here :)

- I've had no problem whatsoever with their customer support.

- If you're grinding in Age of Conan you're doing something wrong. Up to level 70 there is more content than you can do on one character without outlevelling the zone. Not to mention how fast levelling in Age of Conan can go ;). 70-80 does go a little slower, but grinding? Not really. In some zones you'll more often curse Funcom for having too much quests so that your questbook is full instead... Barren? Not really :).

- I certainly hope you do not talk like that in global chat in the games you like, because else I fear for the community there! :)

- You're getting access to virtually -all- content prior to level 80, with the exception of a couple of dungeons. You don't need to buy questpacks like in LOTRO, all quests are available to you. The only zones (and thus quests) that are blocked for free players is the expansion, which is also something that other MMO's do ;). You should be grateful you even get to play at all.

- The AoC F2P system has its flaws, but the Turbine system certainly has its own flaws as well.

- You don't need to buy anything in the shop at all. There's stuff that makes your life easier, but there's nothing you actually need. It ain't going to give you an edge over players who don't buy stuff.

Finally: wether it's Turbine or Funcom, they both want your money. I have seen absolutely no difference in them treating their customers differently though ;)

At least it's a cool trailer :D

Almost more for a movie than for a game.
