Dungeons and Dragons Online shows first television ad

Apr 27th 2010 10:46AM (Massively)
Sounds like someone is spending cash shop generated funds in the wrong way. Mmos and the bloggosphere market themselves, why not spend that money on game development instead of tv ad space. which the mmo market leaves on in the background while they play pc games?

Aion and Rooster Teeth: Power leveling is bad

Apr 22nd 2010 1:35PM (Massively)
well i love raiding, and id love a priest, but i cannot justify lvl 1-70 on a priest, so if I could safely pay someone to get it for me, i would. not worth giving someone my password now.

eventually blizz will let everything start at 55 and sell gold so these guys will get shut down.

And i bet aion sees alot of power leveling since its supposedly "Super-Korean" but that game has been bad since they started playing it 4 yrs ago

The Daily Grind: Have you ever had microtransactioner's remorse?

Apr 16th 2010 9:01AM (Massively)
Im just very worried they are seeing other companies having success with microtransactions jumping on the band wagon, and going to move this along further.

I hope we can never buy; emblems, tokens, titles, trade skill mats, recipes, consumables, or weapons/armor/shards

I never got that feeling, Ive been listening to him in podcasts for "god only knows how long" and I really liked him. I always felt like he was really passionate about what he does.. well, did.

I wonder where he is going to and if he's going to maintain his community presence?

careful, they will find a way to make that income,

this is one small step away from in game advertisement.

Wait till you get to watch a commercial b4 you load your instance. better to let them keep some advertising revenue on their forums.

Chinese players outspend Americans in virtual worlds

Mar 18th 2010 1:09PM (Massively)
Aren't These stats a little Jaded? Does it say anywhere that all this money is being spent on items purchased directly. Or are there this happening like;

(please excuse use of words like "Chinese, Vietnam, I, and WOW" just a rudimentary example.

US wow player sells account, ("Chinese" money spent), this company sells to another company, back to a user or liquidates account and sells, gold and item for resale, Money spent again.

Lonely American buys account, buys gold, Chinese supplier restocks gold into inventory from a company in Vietnam where labor is cheaper?

Also , they have had much more time to get used to countless, Smaller free to play games with micro transactions.

I hate how statistics don't ever really tell you what they are attempting to tell you.
