To me, Batman always has been, and always will be, Bruce Wayne. I hate it when writers just throw the cowl on any old Tom, Dick or Harry. (Pun intended.)
It's especially stupid how, if they were trying to capitalize on the popularity surge of Batman among gamers with the release of Batman: Arhkam Asylum by printing ads on the backs and inside of the Batman comics, then they should realize that people aren't going to want to read about the exploits of anyone BUT Bruce Wayne as Batman.
I usually play whatever looks the coolest. (Pretty shallow, eh?) Most of the time this tends to be the Warrior/Knight types, but also Rogue/Assassin types as well.
If there is anything close to a Necromancer that is usually what I'll play first. I have an unhealthy obsession with undead minions....(I think anything related to the undead would be considered unhealthy actually...)
I also like Archer types WITHOUT pets; No DAoC or WoW Hunters, more like DAoC's Rangers/Scouts and WAR's Shadow Warriors.
Or any class with a unique game-play element or style.
Also, I like to solo, so whatever solo's well is also an important factor. In group environments I hate tanking, I hate healing and I don't really like DPSing all that much, so that doesn't really leave much in terms of class selection. That is why I tend to solo.
In DAoC I was a Necromancer. Also had a Savage and Reaver that I enjoyed. In EQ2 I was a Necromancer and later an Assassin. In AO I was a Shade. My main in WoW is a Warrior. In WAR I play a Choppa, but before they were available I was a Black Orc and sometimes a Witch Elf. In AoC I played an Assassin, Necromancer and Demonologist. In CoH/V I was a Scrapper before Villains came out, then I was a Mastermind when it did. (Three guesses as to what type of MM I was.) In FFXI I played a Warrior, but I always wanted to be either a Summoner, DK or a Thief/Ninja.
Countless other MMOs I've played seem to follow the same class choices...
These comments are pissing me off. EQ2 had an absolute boatload of voices at launch; Almost every single quest giver and quest had dialogue at the time. (And back then, there were thousands more quests then there are now) For whatever reason, SoE removed the aforementioned thousands of quests and voices and turned EQ2 into the product you see today.
I understand that by "full voiced" they are talking about your character as well as npcs, but I'm getting angry at the lack of respect EQ2 is getting. Really, EQ2 paved the way for voice work in MMOs.
I had no idea WoW had this feature. That is awesome!
I loved the idea in GW, but didn't really care for GW itself so I never really got to experience it much. I'm a solo player at heart, and 99 times out of 100 if I come across a quest that requires a group to complete, I decline it rather then going through the hassle of trying to find a group to do it. It's nice to have an option for solo players to experience and complete these group quests now.
