Captain's Log: The 2800 -- Boldly they rode into the sunset

Annoyingly the fun voice acting they've added makes the voicelessness of your character quite jarring.

Star Trek Online hits warp factor Season 5 today

@Lorell At the top of the store section, there's a row of buttons for categories: Home, Personnel, etc.

To the left and right of those buttons are a < and > arrow buttons. Click the right one for another set of buttons, which includes "Appearance". There's all the costumes.

DCUO's Fight for the Light content pack free for subscribers

Anyone know how much content this is adding? My main gripe with the game is the grind at maximum level due to lack of different things to do. In order to do any of the fun raids and hard mode stuff you need good gear. To get that good gear takes way too much repetitive mission running.

Perfect World Entertainment confirms Star Trek Online going F2P this year

@SwarlesBarkley

Yes, they revised ground combat. You can now even go in to a sort of third person shooter mode. The pace of ground combat is greatly accelerated even if you use the standard MMO target and press your weapon and ability keys style.

The Daily Grind: Would you play an MMO made by Rockstar Games?

Aug 31st 2011 10:04AM (Massively)
I like the idea of all the games that Rockstar creates. When I finally sit down and play them though, they end up feeling like work.

For a successful MMO, I think they'd actually have to create a more directed narrative than they actually have in their games. Ironic no?

Gaijin releases World of Planes screenshots and trailer

Aug 25th 2011 4:09PM (Massively)
Well, as much as I like World of Tanks, I'll have to give this a try in addition to World of Warplanes.

Why? There is a P-38 in the trailer. woo!

What bothers me in the trailer is that some of the plane movement looks pretty bad. It looks like they're flying with keyboard controls, haha.

The Perfect Ten: How to deal with burnout

Aug 25th 2011 3:20PM (Massively)
I find it's important to not look at your time spent playing MMOs as an investment. You're supposed to be playing a game to have fun.

It's a lot easier to walk away from a game if you realize you're not having fun anymore and that's okay.
