EVE Evolved: Rebalancing EVE's ships

@Khai mann

This is exactly what I was thinking. Just like when they made each race all the same (except for looks). Very annoying.

There are two server Nezeb and Tensess. Of the two, Tensess has the lower server population.

Incursion 1.5 patch bringing agent changes to EVE

Eve is not really a solo game. You can do it, but it takes training and skills. However, there are a number of corporations that are in game to help new players. Eve University comes to mind.

Also, if you want to solo level 1 missions, do it in a destroyer. You can get a free destroyer by doing the advance combat tutorial. (in game: F12 -> Click on "Show Career Agents" button).

There's no change to R&D agents. Also, if you had points in any of the social skills those points will be refunded, and you will find the comparable skill book in your hangar.

Rise and Shiny recap: Allods Online

May 8th 2011 4:03PM (Massively)
Okay, I'm finally going to make my opinion of Allods known after going back and giving it a second try. I wanted to wait before commenting since I played in all of the open betas (but left after the Gipat implosion), and didn't want that to completely drive my comments here.

First off, I just love this game. The stylized races and great graphics makes it a beautiful game. New teleportation markers makes it much easier to get around. The cash shop has has been fixed (with the exception of runes), so I give them a thumbs up for getting it straightened out. I was just getting read to purchase some gpotatos to support the game when I hit level 12, and ran into issues.

My issues: The mobs (not bosses mind you, just plain old mobs) are very over powered still. It's not the extra hit points (those can be offset by using incense). It's their damage output. When a level 13 plain old monster (POM), can take out a level 12 player in 4 or 5 hits, there's something wrong in my opinion (13 POM doing about 150 damage a hit, to my 13 - 100 at level 12). Now, it could be that I'm not properly geared, but the frustration level is just too high for my casual style. I suspect that runes would offset the incoming damage, but I'm not willing to pay the exorbitant prices for them.

Ultimately, as the author points out, this is not a solo game. If you're soloing (like I was), you are going to be very frustrated. However, I found it difficult to get into groups, so there's times where I had to solo.

Should the game be solo-able? Well, if you're only attacking mobs one level higher than you (one-to-one), then I would think yes. You should be able to use pulling tactics to take on one monster at a time (there's very little group agro in the game), and be able to defeat something that's a level or two higher than yourself without dying (though I'd expect it to be a more of a challenge, but not deadly). It's the increase in monster dps that really creates the problem in my opinion.

Ultimately, frustration is not fun, so, sadly, I'll be putting this one back on the shelf while waiting to see if the next patch reduces the frustration levels. It's really disappointing since I do love the game.

I'm kinda sad that miniatures are not going to be the B-day gift. However, the Razah update is awesome. The best part of the whole thing. Of course, the cupcakes are always great fun.

A premium edition box would be great to get a friend to join in the fun.

Flameseeker Chronicles: Is ArenaNet approaching the pay-to-win line?

@Vinceant +1for explaining the nature of mercenary heroes.

I don't think the article explained what these mercenary heroes are very well. They're your other characters that you can add to your party as a hero.

Also, You can now have up to 7 standard heroes in your party now (instead of the original 3). If you have Nightfall and Eye of the North, then you can have a full party of heroes without paying anything extra.

Personally, I thought the addition was pretty cool myself (even though it's a bit on the pricey side).
