The Daily Grind: What's on your MMO bucket list?

Apr 4th 2012 11:03AM (Massively)
@Vinzix. Exactly how do you "finish" an MMO? I guess that could be a subject for a new Daily Grind....! :)

The Secret World pre-order packages feature beta access, lifetime sub, and more

Apr 4th 2012 8:29AM (Massively)
I have been excited for this game for years and now it has arrived, I must admit I was taken aback by the price of the addons. I dont mind the lifetime sub price but the prices for additional character slots and name reservations as well as potions and costumes do seem steep. I will no doubt be playing this game for some time to come so may opt for the lifetime sub but only after PAX feedback and beta previews have been released.

The Daily Grind: What originally got you into MMOs?

Apr 2nd 2012 4:55AM (Massively)
Back in the good ol' days when WoW was talked about as the best, most innovative game out there, I delayed playing it for months until I took the plunge and in that first night stayed up until 5am just playing my druid (called Allannon). Now, I only ever play MMOs as playing a single player game just doesn't seem worth it as there's no one to share it with.

The Daily Grind: What would make you cancel a pre-order?

For all the talk of cash shops, I would be interested to know exactly which games actually sell end game armour/weapons in a cash shop. People complain about it but in my experience haven't come across any AAA games that do actually sell the armour/weapons for real world cash which is equal or better than ingame endgame gear? Would be interested to know.

Contrary to popular opinion, I would like to see a cash shop offer for sale gear items for people like me who are in a PvE guild whos loot council keep overlooking me for gear yet complain about not having enough well geared people to progress, which would enable me to skip old content and get geared for max tier content. PvP gear however is a different story of course as you are competing against someone else where wealth shouldn't come into it.

WoW's Mists of Pandaria beta download surfaces on Battle.net [Updated]

I wish the pandas in MoP actually looked like that picture, rather than black and white cuddly toys like the game.

Completely off-topic, but if anyone has any spare Scrolls of Resurrection I would be grateful :)

RIFT 1.8: Guild recruitment system preview

Mar 21st 2012 6:49AM (Massively)
@AlienFanatic. Absolutely agree. I love the fact that you can search a guild by time/play schedule (e.g. I want to raid after 9pm so I really hope I can look for a raid guild that raids at or after 2100hrs) but a keyword search is imperative in my opinion and from my limited knowledge of programming, would seem to be quite easy to implement.

@Floop the Squirrel. Yeah, that would make sense as I always thought 2.0 would be an expansion and as far as I know, there's no plans for a full expansion probably because they are hard at work improving the existing game first!

Hyperspace Beacon: Gooey GUI

Mar 21st 2012 6:41AM (Massively)
I love playing around with my UI as well as Addons etc so this was a big thing missing from the game for me. I'm glad its being implemented and will be an important part of my decision whether to resub or not.

Blizzard acknowledges TOR's impact on WoW

Mar 21st 2012 6:21AM (Massively)
@(Unverified). I too am an immersion/exploter type, and SWTOR offers absolutely no reward for exploration, and doesn't even give you the chance to explore its very limited worlds. And despite the big thing made about voice quests and story lines, it couldn't feel less immersive. Although I quit playing, I think the game is quite fun and anyone wanting a theme park on rails, it is a good game but for now I will stick with Rift.
