Alright, admittedly I'm in the throes of a horrible death flu and I'm hopped up on Nyquil, but when I saw the headline, read the article and looked at the screenshots, the first thing I did was check my computer's date to see if it was April 1st.

Mechwarrior.... Online? I am excited and horrified. Excited because its a new Mechwarrior. Horrified because.... the word "Online" in the title.... please don't be a F2P MMO or something like that... please...

@Draugdraugr Yeah that's what I was thinking too. While I would love to see it make it's way to consoles, years of playing the old Mechwarrior games makes me think of the custom joystick schemes I'd constantly tinker with and configure which just added to the fun of it all, but I couldn't see all of that seamlessly transitioning to a 360 or PS3 gamepad... I'd love to be proven wrong though! Either way, I'll have to see if I can mooch off of a friend's PC who get's this... or start saving again. Heh.

@Cranky Penguin You can still download Mechwarrior 4 for free on the MekTek site, and its official expansions I believe. Then of course the fan made expansions, which are actually quite awesome and very faithful to Battletech/Mechwarrior (as well as being fun, which is really what matters, isn't it?)

Sad it isn't gonna be on consoles :'( Don't get me wrong, I used to be exclusively a PC gamer and I loved it, played every single Mechwarrior game faithfully. It's so hard to maintain a PC nowadays, speaking for myself at least. Too many other more important things I could be spending my money on.

Alas, I'm sure I'll have to budget in a decent PC at SOME point in the future to get a taste of this new Mechwarrior game >:D
