It's also probably not as bad as it sounds... in some settings, ads actually fit like a glove and help with the immersion (just think Deus Ex for example). Titan is rumoured to be in the near-future (while also making heavy use of time travel), so I don't think ads will be a problem, if implemented decently.
For the record, the MoP trademark was first brought to light by me, admin of titanfocus.info. It's true that I used the MMO-Champ forums to spread the word, since that's by far the biggest WoW community right now and keeping the info only on my site would have meant not being discovered any time soon. :P http://titanfocus.info/page/index.html/_/announcements/mists-of-pandaria-on-my-site-r16
@ReekuMF You're telling me SW:tOR was not heavily advertised by EA?
It's the only listed MMO because there weren't any other important launches since like forever.
I'm not even interested in the position... important is the trend.. From 10 to 38 is a pretty huge drop, so early in the game's life. It also makes me think that digital sales and sales from other regions followed the same trend, although of course there is no real proof related to this, yet.
@Sorithal How do you know they were quick to answer? They didnt mention anywhere when the attack happened... As far as we know, it could have been 2,3 weeks ago.
Anyone notice something weird about this announcement? There is no date mentioned as to when it happened. Just that they "recently" discovered it, which can mean 1,2 days or 1,2,3 weeks.
After browsing their very confusing site and forums for a bit, apparently a new server was launched one week ago, with no clear plans for others.
Also big lol @ "truly free". Don't know how NCSoft is handling it, but on the EU side I already see premium accounts advertised, with the possibility of leveling twice as fast, get unique items from special zones etc. Also, there's a store on the way, with more P2Win items. :|
