Players the source of Warhammer's problems?

Nov 27th 2008 10:14PM (Massively)
The problem with War is that its PvE SUCKS. The private quests aren't rewarding in xp or gear, and the public quests are a complete grind. Worse you don't even get good gear from taking keeps most of the time. I can't tell you how many times I got nothing more than a stupid seed from the champs and heros. Its classes are completely unbalanced in both PvE and RvR.

These are all fixable problems if Mythic acknowledges the problem and starts fixing it, but I don't think they notice or care. That is why I canceled and won't resume unless and until there is some major changes.

Consumer Reports says: keep your car for 225,000 miles

Sep 7th 2007 1:17AM (Autoblog)
Hondas are horrible for long 100k+mile owning. I work at a pizza delivery joint, where the 20 drivers there put on tonnes of miles on their car. Every person there that has owned a Honda in the last 5 years has had to replace their transmission once or some cases twice. The mechanics in this area won't even flush the transmission on a Honda that has more than 80,000 miles because around that time or shortly afterwards they will need a new transmission, and they don't want the liability of it dying 1,000 after a trans flush.

Please, Please don't buy a Honda for long term ownership. Everything on it will be working perfectly 99% of the time right up until the transmission just dies. I would rather have a few minor repairs, than just get 1 huge repair every 80 to 120 thousand miles.

Dell laptop battery recall and the future of hybrids

Aug 18th 2006 8:11AM (Autoblog Green)
Why can't people remember using Lithium batteries for cars are bad. They have a half life of 3 years from the time they come off the production line. It doesn't matter if you use them a little or a lot, it will still be 3 years. Yeah you can make a Tesla roadster with them and make it last 100,000 miles, but only if you drive 100,000 miles in 3 years.

Then you are likely looking at a $50,000 bill for new batteries every 3 years. I know I would never spend that much on gas in my lifetime, and that is just for the batteries.

TechArt Magnum: 600HP Cayenne Turbo to appear at MPH '06

Aug 16th 2006 10:40PM (Autoblog)
Aren't they going to be sued by DaimlerChrysler for the name Magnum? I know they can't call it that in the States, and likely DC might have plans for the Magnum in the UK.

I am generally against suing over names, unless in this case they are identical segments. IE both are a car.

BMW planning Z2 roadster?

Aug 15th 2006 5:30AM (Autoblog)
I doubt the Z2 will be much smaller than the current Z4, but the new Z4 will be bigger than it is now. They might be able to chop a few inches off of a Z4 if it only need room for a 4 cylinder, but like all of BMW cars they get bigger every generation. At some point the 7 series will be longer than a Suburban.

Also, since when is a Merc SLK a 4 cylinder? or cheap? The 280 and 350 are v6, and the 55 is v8. And how is it in the same class as an MX-5 at a third of its cost?

Thats like saying I want this saloon to compete with Accords, 5 series, and Merc CLS. While they all have 4 doors they aren't at all in the same class.

BMW unveils 2007 MINI

Aug 15th 2006 12:05AM (Autoblog)
I could definitely do without the painted silver plastic. They are not fooling anybody.

But if I was living up north and needed a car that handles the occasional snow better than my MX-5 then I wouldn't mind getting a 06' Cooper S. I would however throw out the backseats. Then I would lightly mod the engine, to put out 200hp. But with this new Mini, you will have to wait a while for any decent mods for it. Plus I like the reliability of a supercharger more than a Turbo, which you will have to heavily service every 75,000 miles. The old S, all you needed was a new lightweight crankshaft pulley, and new supercharger pulley and you had 200hp. Toss a little extra cooling in it and you were good for life. With turbos it is never easy to have big power for 150,000+ miles.

It looks worse than the current ones. What little style it had was thrown out.

Ford's Way Forward: it's a long and winding road

Aug 1st 2006 2:35AM (Autoblog)
You drive 150,000 miles a year? And you don't care about fuel effecient cars? Are you insane or just full of bullshit?

A car that does 20 mpg compared to a car that does 21 mpg, would save you ~$1000. A car that does 40mpg would save you $11,250. A Diesel car like a Golf TDI that does 70mpg on the freeways would save you ~$16,000, since you would have to do a lot of freeway driving to even approach 150,000 miles a year.
