Planet Calypso and Entropia Universe unveiling vehicles

Jun 22nd 2010 2:32PM (Massively)
It's a neat game but not for everybody. You can play by depositing $10 / month, but there is a bit of grinding involved. There are questions but they're fairly limited.

If you wanted to craft weapons for example you may need to deposit hundreds a month; there is the potential to profit. Most players don't profit, they treat the game on a pay-to-play basis.

I like it because I don't have to pay when I don't want to. I can go a month without depositing and still log in, chat, heal friends, fool around, ect.

Most people won't like the pay-per-play system, but those that do seem to stick around.

Very interesting "game".

I wonder when the Marketplace will go live. Hopefully a bit before the release so all of us with custom roms get a chance to play around with it.

HTC Mega materializes again, brings along spec list

What wasn't pocketable about the original Diamond?

But QVGA? This is indeed a low end device. But I hope the best to HTC!

Microsoft tells WinMo devs they're beautiful, worth more than 99 cents

I personally prefer the Resistive touchscreen
I can see my diamond outside fine?
crappy os -> opinion
you think the TP2 has poor hardware implementation?
bad memory usage? I've never once ran out of memory on my 2 year old HTC Diamond
my diamond has a few games that are 3D accelerated...
my A2PD headphones dont need a stereo jack... also many phones have them, Touch HD, TP2, Omnia ect...

non-changeable batter, no physical qwerty, locked down phone, that sounds lamer to me ;)

Windows Mobile 6.5 'touch interface' update in February to coexist with WinMo 7?

Aug 19th 2009 5:56AM (Engadget Mobile)
I love it, HTC has android and WinMo phones competing against itself.

No matter what happens it looks like HTC will survive.

HTC's Whitestone for Verizon, high-power Leo rendered again?

Aug 14th 2009 4:17AM (Engadget Mobile)
I like a phone that feels good in my hand and fits nicely in my pocket :)

The reason I'm not getting a TP2 is the size. If I'm going to bring around something that big I might as well bring a netbook / laptop along and tether it to my phone. I can even do that wirelessly while my phone is in my pocket.

But I'm not against big screened devices, the more they sell the more app developers they will draw.

HTC files patent for capacitive stylus with resistive accuracy

Aug 14th 2009 4:10AM (Engadget Mobile)
There are many things I like about resistive screens; you can wear gloves and use them, you don't have to completely bring your finger up when typing on an on screen keyboard, you can get pretty good accuracy with your finger nail, and I can use the back of a regular pen as a stylus.

That said we're moving to capacitive screens and its only a matter of time before all new devices will have them. I'm happy to see HTC is trying to please everybody, they seem to be getting more on their game lately.

HTC's Whitestone for Verizon, high-power Leo rendered again?

Aug 12th 2009 11:20PM (Engadget Mobile)
I've got a feeling WinMo 6.5.1 / 6.7 will support capacitive screens.

But a 4.3-inch screen? I want a smaller phone...

Give me a diamond1 with 32gb or SD cards, a snapdragon, a WVGA screen instead of a directional pad, and a 3.5mm mini stereo jack and I would be in heaven... for a year in till they released something way better ;)

T-Mobile Touch Pro2 review

Aug 12th 2009 1:20AM (Engadget Mobile)
The TP2 at Telus has a 3.5mm headphone jack, and you can upgrade to 6.5 easily on XDA.

That said, I went into the store and checked it out. It's a little too big for my liking, and a little too slow. The same proc that is in my tp1. The 'zoom bar' was sure interesting, I like it but don't love it. The touch aspect of the screen was very responsive, and bigger. It is a very nice display indeed.

If it was snapdragon, or thinner I would have went for it. As of now I'm goingt o wait in till January - telus is said to hopefully be launching their 4G / LTE network which will have a bunch of new phones with it.

WinMo 6.5 build 23022 caught on video, in all its finger-friendly glory

Aug 10th 2009 3:21PM (Engadget Mobile)
If they can release this fast enough, and its well optimized (better then current builds), and fairly bug free, they MAY just have a fighting chance in till WinMo 7 comes out.

I guess there is no hope of multitouch in winmo 6.5.1 or 6.7 or w/e its going to be called?
