Rumor: Blizzard's next MMO to be an MMOFPS

I always thought Valve should've done this. They are clearly the king of fps on pc right now.

Chasing carrots, and why we do it

The grind is why I quit playing mmo's. I'm still a fan of the concept of an mmo, but am holding out until one breaks the mold. Hopefully there will be one where the journey from level 1-max is enjoyable and the endgame isn't repetitive. The wow-effect of quest leveling in mmo's is just as grindy as killing mobs over and over ala leveling in FFXI.

I want a mmo where if I had a chance to be max level I would say no because the leveling experience is too much fun. Not dread it and keep saying, "Damn I wish I was level XX."

The Daily Grind: What death do you usually not talk about?

FFXI running straight into Faust and wiping our group who wasn't ready. Calling for help on Hakutaku and wiping the alliance. Never heard the end of that. I was "the guy who CFH'd Hakutaku".

Don't get me wrong I think Aion is a solid game for what it is. At this point I'd rather play it than WoW, but in actuality i'd rather not play either. I guess I've grown tired of the character progression in Wow and Aion. 1. Go to a zone get quests at town hub. 2. Kill 5 of these, collect 5 of these. 3. Get quest to go to the next hub in the next zone. 4. Rinse and repeat all by yourself solo until max level. To me it just isn't fun, I played the Aion beta until level 13 and got a quest to kill 10 mobs and I just realized this feels like work and I'm not having fun. I want an mmo where I'm having fun while I'm progressing my character, not feel like I'm doing work.

The game is pretty no doubt, but the gameplay is still a wow quest/grindfest. Kill 10 rats, collect 3 crystals, etc. Aion isn't revolutionary enough to make me sub. I'm gonna pin my hopes for a mmo breaking the trend on FFIV. I long for an MMO that can keep me excited and having fun from level 1 to max.

This is a great game you can pick up and play for 30 mins and stop. I've been playing this and Quake Live and I hope to see more games like this.

E3 2009: Final Fantasy 14 MMO coming exclusively to PS3

Been waiting for this game for years. Hoping it will launch on PC the same time as PS3. I went from FFXI to WOW and now being bored with mmo's. This and Diablo 3 will be taking up all my future time.

The Daily Grind: Blizzard's next MMO?

Valve and Blizzard need to join forces to create an epic fps MMO. Cancer would be cured, beer would flow from the mountains, and virgins would appear in droves.
