The Daily Grind: Have MMOs prompted you to read books?

Apr 1st 2010 12:25PM (Massively)
The only MMO that has is LOTRO. I have read most of the Lord Of The Rings and all of the Hobbit. Though since the world of LOTRO is so thick with lore I am slowly reading some of his short stories so I can get a better picture of the world and it's events it brings up in context.

The Daily Grind: Should you be able to choose your class after rolling a toon?

Jul 22nd 2009 5:22PM (Massively)
Thanks for bringing up an interesting question. I think for people who know the basic archetypes this would seem silly and maybe even childish. Though for those new to a game with the old D&D character types; this would be an interesting way to see how they like to solve problems in that type of world. Plus they will be able to chose based on how they played instead of how they wish they could play.

All I can say is; JP, for someone who doesn't care about the game you seem a litle fast to comment on your disdain for it.

Introducing the Massively webcomic: Grinders

May 3rd 2009 4:32PM (Massively)
In City of Heroes if you are a fast player and grind levels way faster than your friends that's OK. COH has an interesting system that lets you "side kick" a friend so they get a buff to allow them to play with you. So in effect since you will get experience just by grouping with them your friend could in effect go afk and just let you keep playing then pop on later and presto, they have leveled a few times over.

The Daily Grind: Are you still a collector?

May 3rd 2009 1:45PM (Massively)
As I's typing this I see my both my WAR and AOC collectors boxes. Though I doubt I will pick one up again anytime soon. I do agree Mythic did one of the best ones I have seen. I thought the hardbound comic was pretty good, it gave you a pretty cool intro into the world; and it gave you an idea of what was going on when you logged in.

CE's are great if you really want to get into the world and support it as much as you can. Otherwise you may just be throwing good money after bad.

Dang that is a nice spot, oh and thank you Krystalle for the little story. It reminded me that I still had to move some clothes to the dryer, oddly enough I still can't will them dry.

Let the Wookiee win in Threat of Peace issue #5

Dang Lethality, it's OK just take a deep breath and count to ten. The last time I checked Bioware was not sending imperials to your house and forcing you to play it at "laser point."

Play, it don't play it whatever. The great thing about MMOs now is that there are now way more types coming out. I'm sure you will be able to find one that does not disrupt your delicate balance of what is right and wrong in the world.

Funcom goes bi-coastal this year at conventions

Feb 25th 2009 4:18PM (Massively)
Glad to hear they will make it to PAX. I have to admit I have felt bad for Funcom for a while. They can't seem to shake the launch issues still. even though the patches now add up to 5gigs or more.

Cool write up, can't wait to see the booth this year.

The Daily Grind: What if everyone turned over server logs?

Feb 17th 2009 9:07AM (Massively)
Does anyone know if the logs will come back to bite you? If your boss, friends and family doesn't know what you say do you really care?

The big thing that would come out about me would be; I cuss a ton more online than I do offline. I blame Gnome rogues for that.

Nice article, it's an interesting development to say the least.
